Beer!

Tonight a snifter of St. Bernardus Abt 12.

Picked up a bottle of Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout as well as their Oatmeal Stout. And took a chance on something called Thor's Equinox which is a Belgian style dark made in Seattle.

I enjoy this and their porter regularly! Love their stuff.

I've been of fan of the oatmeal stout for a long time now but am just now trying the Imperial.

Probably three of my favorite brews. I love the dark stuff, bitter or sweet....but I'm partial to sweet. But I love the bitter darks as well. OH THE HELL WITH IT!!!

I hated their imperial stout but their oatmeal stout is outstanding! Need to look for that Thor's Equinox; that's my favorite style right now, BDAs.

The Imperial is ok but there are better ones out there.

tonight I am having a Yuengling.

Not really my thing; too "skunky" tasting. Not a drainpour but I won't be buying it again.

Yep about 2 1/2 months away! The highlight of the end of summer/beginning of fall. Usually out around here as early as the last week of August but always by mid September.

I've yet to taste any of the fruity beers that I like. I've had one with honey that was ok but they seem too sweet.

I've had several and had the same experience....yuck. But I've had a Honey Brown that was okay as well.

I can't stand "fruit beers" which are different from "fruity beers". My Belgians are "fruity" but the taste comes from the hops not from a fruit so it's a different taste.

And pumpkin isn't a fruit anyway.

Don't stock up too much. I tried that a couple years ago. It gets funky after about 7 months or so. Still drinkable but when tasted side by side with a fresh one, it has a funny taste.

I wasnt going to stock up that much. I dont have enough room for a beer cellar until the kids are all grown.

Ok, so pumpkin beer would be a gourd beer? Is it fruit tasting?

Tastes like pumpkin pie complete with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Wasatch Pumpkin Ale is the best beer I've ever had period. I'm brewing my own pumpkin ale this fall & entering it in the local brewfest, the one I made last year was great! Christmas ales are great also.

Those are my two favorite styles, pumpkin and Christmas ales. I'd love to taste your pumpkin brew. Good luck in the brewfest.

Never had it but my track record with fruit beers says I wouldn't like it.

It's not bad. It's the only fruit beer that I like.
