Great Divide Brewery's Gran Cru.

My obsession with Belgian ales continues.

Today picked up a six pack of:

Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat

Flying Dog Raging Bitch Belgian-Style India Pale Ale

and a single Marine Brewing Stinson Beach Peach Ale, which I will be enjoying tonight

Made a run to Lukas Liquor and spent a small fortune again. The cool thing was I discovered Samuel Adams is apparently doing their Longshot contest again. I picked up a case of this year's winners.

My two buddies and I are going to this event next month and try this out, sounds like an interesting mix, plus we all love stouts and micro-brews, so this should fun:

Turns out my sister is a good friend of this guy and he just recently got engaged to one of her friends from UCSB. Small world.

Yep! That sounds like my cup of tea...errr...beer. I'm a BIG fan of stouts too; let us know how it was.

Drinking Southern Tier's "Choklat". I sure wish this wasn't a seasonal brew. Man, is this awesome! Tastes like semi-sweet chocolate but the finish reminds you that you're drinking a beer.

"The Stoic" from Deschutes Brewery in Oregon; a Belgian Quad that weighs in at 11% ABV.

I love my Belgians!

Bank's Beer

Just got back from Barbados and had one of these. It was O.K., a little bitter for my tastes.

Seriously, right? I'm always down to try new beers, but this is......weird? No bueno in my books.

Yet another heavy Belgian dark ale (11% ABV). This is my favorite Grand Cru.

Now you're in my stomping grounds. I've recently picked up Inversion IPA from Deshutes that's 80 IBU. Hoppy but not overwhelming.

Today my sister comes in with a 6 pack of of something called Simple Times Lager and says she bought it because she knows how much I enjoy beer. I took her hand and looked her in the eyes and thanked her for her purchase but let her know that lager is not beer and she should never make the mistake of purchasing any beer that's a lager in the future. She had a confused look on her face, but we both had a good laugh. But I gotta admit, it was decent stuff for what it was, the perfect cold beer to make a bbq with on a hot summer day.

lager is too beer!!!

A good lager is but the stereotype is mass produced American lagers and their swill.

Yeah, I enjoy a good lager and I'm especially fond of black lagers. Try Sam Adams black lager sometime; mmmmmmm...

Yup, I've had it, it is good. Actually, I do enjoy really good bock's, so it's not lagers per se, just the crap that's mass produced I hate. But you know I'm an ale guy, specially your favorite, the IPA

I just spent the weekend camping in the woods w/my son's Cub Scout troop and needless to say, after that experience I needed a few beers. Fortunately the local beer purveyor came thru with some 24 oz. cans of Yuengling Lager!!!

Yuengling lager is pretty good; definitely better than your usual fare FF.
