I consider God Forbid Metalcore the way it should be. Loud, crunchy and tasteful. Excellent choice my friend. War of Attrition is another kick-butt song from them.

I think so too. Which is probably why I traded off that CD almost as soon as I got it. The vocals were irritating as hell.

Judging by some of these posts, I think I can safely assume I'm not a metalcore fan. Does Shadows Fall count as metalcore? I like them.

I wouldn't call NIV metalcore. Even though that album is extremely heavy, it's still straight up 90s hardcore. Great band, though! =)
I also don't think Reborn is metalcore. I'd call it "groove metal."

They rule. And they're so damn weird. Or Dwid is, I should say. Have you heard Ringworm? Members of Integrity are in that band and sound very similar to Integrity.

I don't know. I'd say their first two are way more melodic death metal than anything that was later termed metalcore.
But yeah, there are too many genres.
