Metalcore anyone?

Any one here into Metalcore at all? Im a big fan and am not ashamed of it. Although some of the kids that are into it need to stop ninja kicking me when I am trying to drink a beer.

I think am actually more into the Deathcore thing.

You know stuff like new Cryptopsy, As Blood Runs Black, Bleeding Through, Darkest Hour, Job for a Cowboy, Bury Your Dead, and the list goes on and on.

Thoughts? I see alot of you guys are old schoolers which is awesome but I dont see alot about this stuff on here.

i like alot of metalcore deathcore & grindcore. i'm one of the few here though.

I dont mind it, but it's a mood thing. I tend to prefer the 'thick-neck' styled bands ala Hatebreed, Born From Pain, Irate etc rather than the new style that Metal Blade have signed. However there are a few "Deathcore"styled bands that I rate highly such as All Shall Perish, Beneath The Massacre and Despised Icon to an extent.

However the whole looking like a hairdresser and playing 2nd rate melo-death was never going to be good and has tainted the rest of the genre. Shame 'bout that.

Gotta really be in the mood for it. Last metalcore CD I remember enjoying was Fasedown's Blitz of Anquish.

Also Lifeforce Records has alot of great Metal, death, Grind core talent. I've enjoyed most of the bands from this genre, but I am also ready to see where it goes from here.-TJ

You got to be kidding me....this is HOM, metalcore is a bad word around these parts.

The only metalcore bands I ever remember likeing was Living Sacrifices metalcore era and The Agony Scene.

Forgive me, I didnt know I was being "young" again...curses, got to stop doing that.

I will say that by and large, I hate metalcore.

However, I have found that some bands lumped into this category actually appeal to me (A7X comes to mind) so I'm always open.

But as I said, for the most part I can't stand this style.

Most of it sucks, but some are decent. Besides it's great music for working out.

All That Remains, Mendeed and some stuff by Heaven Shall Burn would be my thing, in small doses...

a few metalcore bands out there actually sound different enough for me to like them, but must are either generic or wanky.

I too like a few, KSE, As I Lay Dying and Becoming the Archetype.

I'm pretty much around the same age as all the mall-core/metal-core type kids so I have ended up likeing a few certain metalcore groups

Killswitch Engage (those guys are also smurfing hysterical in interveiws)

Unearth (saw them opening for Slayer the had an amazing live show)

Shadows Fall (not really sure if they could be called metalcore but wutever)

Early Trivium (pre-crusade)
All That Remains
Lamb of God (there not metalcore but they get lumped in with all these bands)

thats all i can think of right now

Theres a few bands that some would label metalcore that are different enough for me to like.

I guess I am more on the deathcore side of things
