So Alice couldn't work with someone else? I hate when producers think they know it all.

| Could've, but then he wouldn't have worked with Ezrin. The bar is high for Welcome 2 but the the fact that it exists will get this album much more attention than the Night Shift would have gotten. | |

I don't think having high expectations for this album is unrealistic. Cooper's last few albums have all been fantastic. Along Came a Spider is one of his best.

| Alice should try someone else that is good at producing the classic sounding rock albums... Is Ted Templeman still around? | |

I agree. Tis a dangerous thing making a sequel after all these years.... _________________

I agree. Tis a dangerous thing making a sequel after all these years.... I think the cover is cheesy and awful but I have faith in the music. I highly doubt it'll match the original but you once you accept sequels are pretty much never as good as the original, you can still enjoy it and come to view it as a good follow-up. If they made something similar to Along Came A Spider in sound and slapped the Welcome name on it, that wouldn't work but this album is supposedly going back to the campy '70s Alice where it's a mix of rock, pop, disco, funk, etc. I think it'll turn out well.

| I am looking forward to the album, I can't imagine the album sounding anything like the original album, when the album was first released, Alice just went solo and hijacked Lou Reed's band and producer for his album, the music industry still existed etc, very different era then this one.

| Speaking of Alice:
Alice Cooper has teamed up with Universal Studios Hollywood to create a new attraction that will debut at the theme park just in time to celebrate Halloween.
Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare is a maze that Cooper says will be a "living horror movie within screaming distance of the sound stages where horror movies first began." The maze will include simulated guillotine decapitations, electric chairs, a giant snake and an insane asylum.
Cooper's maze attraction will be part of the larger Halloween Horror Nights 2011 event, which will begin on September 23rd and continue on selected nights through Halloween evening on October 31st. The event will also include two mazes designed by horror director Eli Roth based on his Hostel series and the forthcoming movie "The Thing: Assimilation."

What ever happened to 'The Night Shift' anyway? Was it just the working title of this album before it became 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare', or did he scrap the album and make this instead? It might explain why there are so many songs. I remember hearing that before he decided on the "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" concept, he was originally going to do a concept album about a radio host or something crazy like that. I actually think that may have been better, because this album title is going to lead to unrealistically high expectations. you are correct - expectations given the new album name are sky high... Which can only mean people will be let down by it,unfortunately.

I don't think having high expectations for this album is unrealistic. Cooper's last few albums have all been fantastic. Along Came a Spider is one of his best. Don't get me wrong, Along Came a Spider was a very enjoyable album, but I wouldn't consider it one of my favourites. His last masterpiece was, in my opinion, Brutal Planet. Either way, I think we can agree that it will be difficult to match the greatness of Welcome to My Nightmare, but I hope he succeeds.

Likewise, I think the cover art is cool. I'm am going to fork out the extra cash to get this on vinyl. Still kicking myself for not buying a vinyl copy of Sonic Boom. What was I thinking

Seriously. They're doing it as an incentive for people in those regions to buy the album and not download it, but it just irritates people these days.
For me, I just buy whatever version is easiest and then download the bonus tracks. If Amazon.com has the bonus track available, I'll even pay for them. Haha. Same here. This has really gotten annoying, and Ozzy is one of the worst offenders when it comes to this. But, it's Alice, so I'm sure I will like the music anyway!

It's a different time and Alice is nearly forty years older. I'm going to except it for what it is - a new Alice Cooper album with a nod to the past. But it is very cool that Bob Ezrin produced and the original Alice Cooper Band members are reunited for a track or two. Looking forward.

Don't really trust Newbury though. My only two ordering experiences with them weren't that great. Really? I order from them constantly especially autographed stuff and never once had a problem. You can't miss out on this. I wish I would have waited for this. I bought the Autographed Alice Cooper Halloween single last year that came with a T-shirt for $60 what a rip off that was. I ordered 2 of these autographed cds from Newbury and I guess I will keep the fanpack one I ordered too for the bonus tracks. _________________
