Sorry if it's been mentioned already but I always liked this Anthrax cover of a Smiths tune:

Fu Manchu with a nice "fuzzed out" cover of the Cars' Moving in Stereo

Technically this isn't a cover *song*, but it definitely fits the definition of killer.

I'm not sure why but when Yngwie does this kind of thing = cornball When Uli does it = Awesome!  

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned before in here, but it's awesome enough to post again.

The Pistols versions were the first I knew of both of these songs, I didn't even realise that they were covers for a couple of years.

Even as a kid, I knew The Monkees had something special in that song.

I normally hate Lady Gaga "metal" cover versions as they all seem to be really boring 'lets put metal guitars and death metal vocals on a Gaga track, that will be huhlairious!!   " kind of affairs but this works because they have spotted the fact that this song always had 80's pop rock influences and just gone with it.

They also cover Creatures of the Night but I'm not messing with the HOM Kiss Army, they use real guns!!  

I think that I've just heard the most fun cover version ever!!

It's very Nouvelle Vague (who I love), and I think the singer is great.

Not going to appeal to everyone but I'm definitely getting this record when I can track it down.
