I didn't realize Mark was having trouble with his voice, I haven't listened to any Slaughter since the early 90's. I remember seeing Ugly Kid Joe, Slaughter, and Ozzy in St. Louis back in 91 on the No More Tears tour and Mark was by far the best singer to hit the stage that night.
Waaaaaay better, but you can still hear it going bad. Wonder what happened. I mean, his voice is shot now. Totally. I think I take back my previous comment about him still being able to sing but not in the "Slaughter tone." I think his voice might be dead, if that can happen. Haha.

OK, on the basis of those videos, Mark should step back and just focus on his guitar playing. Dang, that 2010 version is bad!

Like Joe Elliot, Mark Slaughter sang out of his natural range. Just because someone can hit a note, does not mean its their natural range and it does not mean its not harming their throat when they're hitting it.
He sang so high for so long that as he aged his throat began to callous. The callouses, if not removed, will cause his throat to not function the way it used to causing his voice to not be able to "respond to his commands", so to speak.

I feel sorry for the guy, I mean, you get a rep for being this glass-shattering high-voiced screamer, and then it just goes away on you. That's gotta suck. My mom has a similar problem in that she has developed some polyps on her vocal cords, she used to have a ridiculous upper range but I would bet she's lost 1/2 to 2/3 of an octave off her top end in the last two years. I seem to be singing higher all the time as I get older, stuff that strained me 5 years ago is now easy, but I also practice a lot more than I used to.

WOW! That first video was horrible. He had to of been sick or something theres no way he's that bad all the time. A friend of mine saw them maybe 2 years ago and said he sounded good but when he did his screams they were so loud it killed his ears.
No. I thought that, too. A cold! The flu! But nope. There are years' worth of videos on YouTube, and he sounds the same in all of them. His voice is toast.
I saw SLAUGHTER 2 years ago at a festival...and they SUCKED. I'd say he just walked around 80% of their set and let Dana "Attention smurf-for-hire" Strumm steal all the attention.
Mark Slaughter was also working his way to a C Cup, it looked like, at the time.

I'm surprised he's still singing then. He's supposedly doing voice overs for commercials, cartoons etc. If he's that bad he's better off not singing and leave his voice where it is before it gets worse.

I agree, but I imagine it's how he makes a living. It's always hard when it's you job, how you provide for yourself and family. I feel bad for the dude.
Unless he's a drunk or something. Then I have no sympathy.

I like Slaughter a lot and this album is one of their best.
Mark's voice is indeed shot though. I was lucky to see him in top shape in 2000, and again in 2007 when he could still do most of the songs justice.
The thing that's odd is that he can still hit some really high notes... It's mainly his mid range that is just completely gone and he sounds like he literally lost his voice when he's trying to sing in it.
He was supposed to have vocal surgery done recently but I haven't heard anything about that, and from recent videos it doesn't sound like he's changed at all.
He was playing guitar in Nelson for a short stint recently. I think he should probably stick to gigs like that instead of embarrassing himself.
