| I know a lot of metal/hard rock fans hate this band. However, I think this a stupendous album. It has a sort of 70's vibe to it and reminds me of T.Rex, Sweet, etc. Anyone else like this album? _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I remember when this came out. Although at the time my love for Slaughter was just about gone and I only bought it because thats basically what I do. If I like the band I usually keep buying their stuff unless I totally don't like anything, which isn't the case with Slaughter I've liked things that they have done here and there. They just haven't done anything as good as Stick It To Ya or even Wild Life. Now I don't know what they are even doing? It's been a long time since their last release and the last I heard Mark Slaughter was doing voice overs.
Anyway back to this album...... For some reason this album always reminded me of Crimson Glorys Strange and Beautiful. It has the same sort of feel to it like you said Ult 70's vibeish. This is also my least favorite Slaughter album since I only like 2 songs off the whole thing "Hard To Say Goodbye" and "You're My Everything". The album cover kind of made me ready for what I was in store for but I bought it anyway just because I was a fan. Otherwise I would have gotten rid of this one a long time ago. The drums sound horrible as well. _________________

| Never been much of a fan of this band, mostly because of Mark Slaughter's voice, but I did see them live in a tiny club when they were on tour promoting this album. We went at the last minute when we found out they were playing at a former strip club turned rock club called The Velvet Lounge (which is now a Papa John's Pizza). We had half a buzz going and the full intent of heckling them. Turns out they were pretty entertaining live. I remember them doing a ripping cover of Joe Walsh's 'Rocky Mountain Way'. I know this has nothing to do with opinions of the album. Sorry. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I had their debut on tape, but never bothered to upgrade to cd. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. If I remember correctly, there is not a single live note on that album...it's piped in crowd noise, extra reverb and studio performances separately tracked... _________________ FINAL SIGN

| Never heard it before, so I have no opinion. Do like the first two Slaughter releases. And just to beat some "knuckledhead" to the punch...."The real 'SLAUGHTER' is a 'THRASH' band from Canada" _________________ | |

| Actually, from what I have read, the basic tracks were recorded at a couple shows including Mexico and Nevada. The band then went back at re-tracked some of their parts. Crowd noise was added to give it a better "live" sound. One track, can't remember which one, is completely a studio track with crowd noise added. This is not unusual for bands though. Many bands have done this. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Just go to the venue, play the songs, get the recording, do a minimal amount of mastering, and release it. I don't want to hear a bunch of overdubs and punch-ins on a recording that's supposed to be live. I don't expect it to be perfect, note for note, and without flaw.

| I have this and remember that it does have that T-Rex and Sweet feel to it, especially the songs American Pie(T-Rex) and Tongue In Groove. I actually like Fear No Evil and Back to Reality better than the first two albums. This one is somewhere in the middle, but I haven't listened to it in a while. | |

Funny. I think Wild Life is their only weak album. Good, but not great. I think the other albums are great. Really love Back to Reality as well. Too bad that's likely their last album, especially the horrifying voice that Mark now sings with.

I love slaughter.
I believe that they've disbanded?

I believe that they've disbanded? Nope. They still tour every year...even though Mark Slaughter cannot sing anymore.

He probably can still sing, just not like he did in Slaughter. Kind of sucks, though, when all, or a large portion, of your livelihood comes from touring as Slaughter...when you no longer sing the songs well. He should step back and play guitar, find another singer.
