| I went to "my" thrift store where I've been havin' such a good run of luck yesterday, and I got... nothin'! First time in a while I didn't find something interesting. I hope that doesn't signal the start of another "dry spell."

| Crazy enough most of the black metal I own has come from Goodwill. Granted most of it came in one big haul when someone had obviously dumped their collection. But I've picked up other ones along the way. | |

DUDE. Not fair. I went by five Goodwills on the way home from Sac to Fresno yesterday, and they all had the same stupid shit. I mean, I already own Dark Side, but would gladly purchase another copy if found at a thrift store. Then I will not tell you that I found Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance, If - 3 and Nat King Cole meets Lester Young on vinyl.... two bucks each. Finding If at any GW was definitely was a surprise. I've seen their first two albums usually over seven dollars at any record store.... When you can find them. Info on this band at this site: http://www.vintageprog.com/classic70srock/if.htm Those are very good finds. GW can be great with vinyl--last one I picked up was TS Stay Hungry--but many seem to be doing it less and less. Going even further with that thought, I went by a MASSIVE GW depot up in Sutter last week during work. They carried no CD's. Cassette tapes, yes, and vintage electronics galore, but no freaking CD's. Weird.

| I Am Sam original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Never saw the movie, but the soundtrack always intrigued me. A bunch of artists reinterpret Beatles tunes. Could've been a trainwreck, but it's actually pretty good. For .88 cents.

| Always annoying how Use Your Illusion I and II never show up together. Took me awhile to find both of them together for sale at the same time. I like that Shaw/Blades disc.
From Rockaway's dollar bins plus 10% off. You have to get on the floor to root through them all and on top are the new vinyl releases. Had a very LA hipster scoff at my efforts. Pretty proud of that.

Yep, I said the same thing. "Dammit, now I'm gonna have to find the other one" cuz my collecting OCD will not allow me to only have the second volume. - Quote :

You should've, ahem, "accidentally" elbowed him in the nuts while you were down there. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| When those albums came out I had a roommate who bought them day one on CD. For years I just borrowed his copy's, then when he moved on I stopped caring about GNR. Down the road I decided i wanted them and hell if it didn't take years to find both together. I've come around on liking them more as a double album than I once did. I was of the school that said make it one album with just the killer material. These days I kinda dig the whole thing. Still love the quote Matt Sorum said in one of those bios - he joined GNR to rock out not do ballads and orchestrations.
Any dude wearing a scarf in 70+ weather (while drinking Starbucks too) will keep me far away from his nuts as possible. I do wonder if his derision was from me truly being in the way or if he got a look into my basket. Eye rolling from music snobs = quality purchases in my book.
From Salvation Army Blue October - Foiled
From 4 for a buck Hastings sale Blood Meridian - Kick Up The Dust Proper Grounds - Downtown Circus Gang Meices - Dirty Bird Inspiral Carpets - Devil Hopping

| Couple thoughts:
1. Both Use Your Illusions should be released as a double album as was planned,
2. It seems like I always gotta get on my knees at record stores around here; why can't they just find a way to put stuff at eye level?
3. I am certain Fat Freddy has some kind of thrift store CD black magic.

If only that were true, then my want list wouldn't be so damned long. It would be nice to snap my fingers as I walk through the thrift-shop doors and have, say, X-Sinner's Get It magically appear on the rack. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
