From gohastings free shipping sale.  I'm convinced they do these sales as some kind of tax write off.  And damned if they didn't send the re-issue of Vivid.  Thought there was no chance of that.

Got a copy of Disturbed's The Sickness from a thrift store today for 11 cents! (Yeah, it was a cassette copy, but why look a gift horse in the mouth?)

Saw Halford's "Two" or whatever it is for .50 at my local record shop. I reached for it, then backed off. Nope, I said. And moved on. That's how much I hate that project.

At the most recent library sale, they'd got a whole bunch of CDs for $1 each. I picked up:

The Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed

No jewelboxes or inlay cards, but a vast improvement over the handful that have been failing to sell for the past couple of years.

Some Pasadena CC flea market finds.  10 for a buck.  And the dude was insistent that you actually take ten.  As well as demanding he bag them all.  I love flea markets.

The Black Tide and Biohazard cds are solid albums.

Turn Of The Wheel is a killer Tempest album! Seen those guys quite a few times live. They put on a great show!!!!!

I also have their Balance disc which is also quite good. I think the grand total of their two discs was 35 cents. Not indicative of their talent and effort at all. Way better than the usual dump bin finds.

Funny thing was I already have that Biohazard but the vendor demanded I have the ten amount to get the deal. Since it was the remaster I figured why not. Better than the American Idol comps that were the alternative, by my thinking.

I picked up Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for a buck at the thrift shop last week...

My thrift store has the absolute worst selection I've ever seen. I was just there this weekend and found absolutely nothing worth picking up. I guess I can count myself extremely lucky when I came across Avantasia's Metal Opera I and II there.

DUDE. Not fair. I went by five Goodwills on the way home from Sac to Fresno yesterday, and they all had the same stupid shit. I mean, I already own Dark Side, but would gladly purchase another copy if found at a thrift store.

Thrift shops are always hit-or-miss. I've had an extremely good run with the one in my town lately, I have been finding at least one goody every time I visit lately....but I know that the well could dry up at any time, and I might go a year or more without finding anything of interest there. So I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

I have had zero luck at the two Goodwill stores in my area. The store I've been having all the luck with is a rinky dink local charity thrift shop in a run down old church building. Maybe you oughta try some of those in your 'hood.

I never thought they'd carry rock n roll lol. Time to saddle up 'cause we've got hundreds of those stores here in the Central Valley. I'll report back here.

At some point I think albums by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass were distributed directly to Goodwill stores across the country, I don't think I've EVER been to a thrift shop and not seen at least 1 of their albums.

I actually scored the deluxe edition of this at Goodwill once. And had a scary looking guy try and convince me to let him get it instead. His final offer was five bucks for it. I paid two. And feel a little bit guilty I still haven't even taken the second disc out as of yet.

I've never been to a thrift store that didn't have Michael J. Fox's Lucky Man book.

The craziest thing is despite a lot of the same stuff always appearing (Garth Brooks is a constant at mine) even the worst things seem to eventually sell. There is always turnover at the ones I frequent.

Lately all I've seen for months is Christian shit. Rebecca St. James, Steven Curtis Chapman, Plumb. It's as though all the bible bookstores in the Central Valley shut down.
