'Rehab' was not a bad album, I actually like it alot, it was very different from Quiet Riot from the 'Metal Health' era, it was DuBrow exploring a heavier sound and his influences such as Humble Pie.

Joker they are all in a similar vein, sort of Quiet Riot's version of Led Zeppelin, if you did not care for this song, you may want to skip this disc, unless you are a completest like yours truly

This is pretty sh!tty thing to do:
There's drama in the Quiet Riot camp. That's because singer Mark Huff was let go.
While he was in the hospital.
Getting ready for brain surgery.
Yep.
And apparently the firing happened via Facebook... and Mark found out by reading the Quiet Riot page.
Yep.
Needless to say, Huff was mad. He wrote on his own Facebook about the incident:
"As I sit in hospital… wait for my brain surgery… I have been let go from Quiet Riot. And nobody's had balls to tell it to my face. Interesting … the rock 'n' roll business. I have to read the news in a post that's not even directed to me?… WTF?"
I suspect fans left some angry posts for Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali on the QR Facebook. I say "suspect" because it seemed like someone was deleting posts from that page. Then Banali left his own message on the QR wall:
"With regards to Mark Huff: My policy has always been not to air out the dirty laundry in public. That policy remains the same even in light of those who chose to make accusations. The fact is that Mr. Huff's medical condition had nothing to do with the decision that was made, though it is unfortunate that it comes at such a time. His wife assured me that Mark would be home this week, and as legal protocol dictated, a certified letter was sent informing Mark of the decision that was made and why it was made. This was days ago. The content of that letter is a private matter unless Mr. Huff decides to make the reason for his dismissal made public, which I believe would be counterproductive for him. I will not go tit for tat with this issue."
I'm sure there's more to this story that dueling Facebook posts. Still, Huff had been with Quiet Riot since 2010 and was supposed to sing with the band at M3 in May. Whatever the case, it seems pretty dirty to fire someone before brain surgery. Oh and there's this: Banali has already replaced Huff with Keith St. John (he was in Montrose). Here are the upcoming QR dates:

The "new" QR is supposed to be playing a gig here in Jersey in early February.
I'm wondering if any of the ticket buyers are going to see the band come out on stage and go "Wait a minute! THAT'S not Mark Huff! I want my money back"

I think they'll be a few that say "Wait a minute! That's not Kevin DuBrow!!"
Eyesore, Rehab is pretty decent, but it doesn't sound like the "classic metal" sound of QR. It's got more of a 70's hard rock sound. I'm not a big fan of the band, but I found that cd for $1 and gave it a shot. Have you heard Kevin's solo album of all 70's cover tunes? If you dig that (which I did) expect more of that with Rehab.

I'm not the biggest QR fan either. I have like two of their albums. Everything I've heard, expect for the hits, has sounded rather mediocre. So I assumed the latter-day stuff would be crap.
I'll grab it next time I'm at that store.

That's shocking! I seen Quiet Riot here in Vegas last simmer with Dokken. It was a free show over at Sunset Station Casino. Quiet Riot really impressed me. I thought this Mark Huff guy was an excellent choice in a vocalist and he sounded an awful lot like Kevin Dubrow.
Quiet Riot should just pack it in. I understand Frankie Banali's wish to continue, but with yet another vocalist, people are really going to stop caring.

Quiet Riot's set at M3 went over well (Much better than No So Great White's set). The new singer sounds a lot like Kevin DuBrow.
Here's the entire set from M3:

Im watching that now and they kick ass! What happened to the big drums kits of the 80's? Frankie is playing such a small, unimpressive kit (as most bands do now).
I liked Mark Huff too. Unfortunate what happened but this guy is good too.

I know what you mean. Guess it's not cool anymore. Besides, aside from a few drummers, most of it was probably for show anyway.
So is Frankie the only "original" member in the band now? I feel like I'm watching a QR tribute band. The new dude sounds decent enough though.
I don't know if it's my computer or what, but the audio and video are way out of synch. The music is about 2 or 3 seconds faster than the images.

PHILADELPHIA, (May 13, 2013) – The 2012 American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul, presented by Parx Casino, announced legendary rock band QUIET RIOT will perform a 45-minute concert following the Soul game on Saturday, July 6 as the headlining act for Classic Rock Night at the Soul.
“Arena Football and QUIET RIOT are both fast-paced, non-stop action,” said band manager and drummer Frankie Banali. “After the Soul bang heads with Chicago on the field, we are going to make sure all Soul fans at the Wells Fargo Center are going to feel the noise. We can’t wait to bring down the rafters in Philly!”
QUIET RIOT is a rock & roll phenomenon best known for their hit singles "Metal Health", "Come On Feel The Noise", "Mama Weer All Crazy Now" and "The Wild And The Young." Famously described as the first heavy metal band to top the pop charts, the Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their monster 1983 smash album “Metal Health” which is now more than 10 times platinum. Their follow up album “Condition Critical” went double platinum and the band continues to record and tour throughout their 30-plus year history.
“We are honored to have QUIET RIOT headlining our Classic Rock night,” said Soul VP and COO John Adams. “They have toured the world and performed in front of millions of people, and we are excited to have them perform for our fans.”
It's almost worth going if I didn't have to sit through a crappy indoor football game first. Is Banali the only original guy in the line-up these days?
EDIT: Yes.
Frankie Banali - drums Chuck Wright - bass Alex Grossi - guitar Scott Vokoun - vocals

Chuck Wright is a long-standing member...not original, but has been in the band now for 9 straight years (since 2004) and was in the band in 1982, 1985-1987, 1994-1997...so he's got 17 years total in Quiet Riot...
Alex Grossi goes back 9 years now too...

Not that many folks coming to an arena football game are gonna care. Most of them won't even know the difference and even a smaller percentage of them will wonder what happened to Kevin DuBrow.

Doesn't Jon Bon Jovi own a piece of this football team? I could've sworn I read that somewhere awhile back... if so, it's kinda sad that with those kinds of connections, the best band this team can get for an after-game gig is Frankie Banali and the Riots. Sheesh.

Being part owner doesn't mean he is actually involved in any of the events...just means he is partially financially invested and gets a paycheck.

Jon Bon Jovi no longer owns any part of the team. He sold off his shares after the team won the championships in 2008 and then went on hiatus for 2 years. Richie Sambora was a minor owner too and he has since jumped off that sinkning ship as well.
When he was a part owner, Bon Jovi did play a free pre-game show for the fans, but that was a few years ago. The team has been struggling (financially) ever since then. And yes, Shawn, that is typically true of most celebrity/owners, but Jon was more involved than usual. He attended meetings and stuff and got involved. He wasn't just a pretty face.
