All good bands. I really like The 77s. They had some great alternative stuff back in the 80s.

The Call is fantastic too!

Vigilantes of Love and Undercover are both good, but not favorites.

I've always wanted to get into Tangerine Dream. Seems like a band I could really dig.

I love some ambient stuff.

Those three are a great start... You cannot go wrong with their 70's stuff. In fact the guy who got me into them started me off with Rubycon.

Old Tangerine Dream = cool. Add on 'Phaedra' to the TD needs.

This is a collaborative album between Boris (doom/drone/psychedelic rock), and Merzbow (noise/ambient). One of the most minimalist things I own and completely wonderful. Hypnotizing, an hour long track with a subtle, nuanced beginning, a huge wave in the middle of Merzbow's laptop 'noise', which isn't harsh but actually can be very soothing and hypnotic with the different waves within it, then slowly fizzling out in a long, long conclusion. If you have the kind of niche this might fill, it definitely will fill it.

Ascend - Ample Fire Within

Greg Anderson (Goatsnake, Sunn) & Gentry Densley (Iceburn, Eagle Twin).

I just heard 'The Obelisk of Kolob'.... Not bad...doesn't seem like a way to sum up what the album must be like, though. Or is it? If it's like this but maybe with some quieter or more adventurous parts too, that would be cool... That's why Boris - 'Amplifier Worship' is so great......... In any case, I always tend to like the SunnO side stuff better than SunnO..

I'd starve to death musically if I didn't listen to a vast amount of music with many different styles and genres contained within. Don't know how you guys just live on steak all the time.
