This finally released in the states and i've listened about three times now. Not sure where it'll stand in the JOP catalog, for me nothing will touch Tage Mahal, but it's good. The Beatles influence seem especially strong in Looking For Nothing and Now, Jon sounds as strong as ever and the amazing creativity is strong.
Got Festival last week and listened to it the other day and I think its one of his most dissapointing ones. I really like Jon Oliva but I'm not really crazy about the band. The songs just don't hold up for me and to hear him say this is as close as we will get to hear Savatage, sucks. Taj Mahal was great, Meniacle Renderings wasnt too bad and Global Warning was ok. I really wish Savatage would just get back.
I know it always takes a few listens for JOP to grab me and I get what is really going on. That's why I wrote after three listens i'm not sure where it'll stand in their catalog. I'd give it some more tries.

JOP's lead guitarist is phenomenal I think.
No doubt, and VERY UNDERRATED. And he shines on this record.

it is on my want list. But is it good or bad album? I read some bad reviews about this album here on the forum
If you are a fan of JOP or classic Savatage I can't see not liking it. Might not be your favorite by them but it's still great.
Ditto
Double ditto! I do need to listen to this more intimatly (sic) because the first listen was during class and my attention was split. But it was still great and I will make myself more familiar with this in days to come.
