Better than anything since Justice. No way... Black Album kills it... Load & Reload are a little better... IMO, of course. |

| Havn't heard ALL of "Death Magnetic" (don't need to or want to) What I have heard sounds like a crappy cut and paste job done by some kid upstairs in his bedroom. Hardly anything flows from begining to end like a song should, and the musicianship... seems kinda phoned in to me, perhaps emailed ?
Sorry to be knockin' someone's favorite band.
Imagine if some new band that just came on the scene released "Death Magnetic" as a debut, well? I'd call alot of folks sayin it was a band trying to be something they were not. Examples... "inspired", "memorable" , "old school", "thrash" , "competent musicians" , and "actually caring".
There was a reason why they put the original logo on it.... geesh Just riding on the merits of a long time gone past. _________________

If TESTAMENT can release The Formation Of Damnation 20+ years on, and MEGADETH can release Endgame 20+ years on, then surely the once-Kings of the field can get up off thier butts a little more than they did on Death Magnetic...they're underachieving, IMO. BADABOOM BABY!

In other words, settle for mediocrity and give them a pass just because they're METALLICA... Nope.
For one thing, DM is, in fact, a good album. Not boring, not "tired". Also, you misunderstand my point. No, we don't give 'em a pass just because they're METALLICA. We don't give them a pass at all. I don't give them a pass for St. Anger. There was no real excuse for that album. Bobby needed the boot, he got it, and now Metallica are starting...starting, mind you...to get back to what they did best. And to me, it's a great start. I agree. Well said.

| Death Magnetic suffers from redundancy, Metallica have never done anything that even comes close to the greatness of Megadeth. Kirk's solos are so predictable: a quick run of descending notes, some wah, and some more descending notes followed by the bending of a single note bent up 1 to 2 whole steps end of solo. | |

Being the Dave Mustaine fanboy that I am it took a bit for Endgame to grow on me but now I think it slays.

Dead on description. But in the end they are memorable and a lot more memorable then anyhting Dave has wrote. Dave is the more technical player, maybe. Kirk writes some amazing leads.

Kirk's are more memorable maybe in the fact that they're all the same, once you hear something over & over for the last 26 years it's hard to forget. But I'll admit Kirk's solo in Devil's Dance is cool. Ahhhh...The Conjuring, great solo indeed.

| I didnt really like Death Magnetic and thought it was weak. Endgame is a good release with a lot of energy. I think some of the newer thrash bands are releasing better albums than both these bands. Warbringer, Evile, Ultimatum, Avenger of Blood, Bonded by Blood, Hatchet and some others have released rad CDs in the last few years that I like better. Even Testament, Sodom, Slayer, Destruction, Kreator and Overkill have released better CDs. | |

| I'm just flat out amazed, 25 years later and we're still comparing every move that Metallica and Megadeth make. We've all really branched out since the 80's. |
