Worst cover song by a metal band?

What song has been covered by a metal band that you wish was never covered?


My vote is Dark Angel's rendition of Zeppelin's Immigrant Song. It really just takes up space on the otherwise excellent Leave Scars album. I think I have heard it only 3 times all the way through due to it's lameness. Ron Reinhardt shouldn't have ever thought he could pull off those Robert Plant screams. Also that song doesn't sound very good at a faster tempo.

Nightwish's cover of "Symphony of Destruction" is pretty horrible.

I thought that was pretty good for just an off-the-cuff jam. That's how they warmed up. Ross Robinson just recorded it.

I thought sonata arctica - wind beneath my wings was really bad until i heard TG.. i think there should be a metal rule - never ever ever cover madonna or better midler. Besides the music it is just sooooooooooo unmetal...

Pretty much. Except for "In A Gadda Da Vida," which I think is really good.

Judas Priest - Johnny B. Goode is up there...

Judas Priest doing Johnny B. Goode is HORRIBLE! By for the worse cover song ever.

This is going way back, but Kmorg will remember it. The otherwise excellent Norwegian hippy hard rockers Aunt Mary, did a cover of "Abraham, Martin, and John"; but it was in the form of a tribute to dead rockers...."Jimi, Janice, and " (I forget, Brian Jones or some fool thing). Silly.

Metallica's cover of Nick Cave's "Loverman" is one of the reasons CD "skip" buttons were invented!!

I agree it sucks but it had one hell of an awesomely creepy video.

I don't mind it. I think it just kind of broke up the flow of the Once Dead album.

Poison has the opposite of the Midas Touch. They have the uncanny ability to turn everything they touch to total crap.

Vengeance Risings remake of "Space 'Truckin" pretty awful stuff! LOL!

Hallows Eve covering Sheer Heart Attack (Queen) is totally gay.

Defiance covering Killers (Iron Maiden). Such a great song, and they managed to make it into a non-dynamic, lifeless hunk of crap.

Fatal Embrace covering Bonded By Blood (Exodus). They don't play it right and they suck the life out of it.
