- Started a horror/sci-fi novel called "Feed" by Mira Grant last night... it takes place in the near future, 20 some-odd years after a zombie apocalypse...America is slowly rebuilding itself (though large sections of the country have been abandoned and left to the "infected") and the story follows a team of youthful "bloggers" following a new candidate for president on the campaign trail.
I was hooked when I glanced at the first sentence while in the library:
"Our story opens where countless stories have ended in the last twenty-six years: with an idiot -- in this case, my brother Shaun -- deciding it would be a good idea to go out and poke a zombie with a stick to see what happens." Finished this one yesterday, and when I returned it to the library I immediately checked out Book #2 in the series (I believe it's called Redline)... good stuff!! Before I get to that one, though, I gotta finish my current read, which is The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorized History by John Ortved ... some great behind-the-scenes stories in this one thus far. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Just read "Slavery Of Faith" by Leslie Wagner-Wilson, a survivor of Jonestown. VERY good book as it details a lot of the things that went on with The People's Temple and events and life in Jonestown. | |

| I've been reading "Handling the Undead," a very interesting twist on the zombie mythos by John Ajvide Lindqvist, the same Swedish author that wrote "Let the Right One In." I've read that, too, and I have his third novel, "Harbour," waiting on deck. This guy is a fantastic author, rethinking what everyone takes for granted about legendary horror archetypes. Highly recommended. | |

| Lost Everything - Slattery
Miserable end-of-times type tale. Wierdly written, don't know why I stayed with it. It was a 6/10, in my opinion. | |

I'm about half way thru this but already picked up my next read at the library: "This is a Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl," a bio of the Nirvana/Probot/Foo Fighters drummer and all around cool rock n roll mofo. Looks like a good read. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
