If i recall well, doesn't helloween's "where the rain grows" start nicely?

(US) Tyrant's "Battle Of Armageddon"......epic beginning,the Metal Massacre version is the best,it begins with a scream,on the album version it is replaced with guitar, the screaming rules !

That's true, but after awhile, on a board like this, I think guys start to rattle off any song that has a bass intro, just trying to one-up the last guy, memorable or not. Ya bunch of elitist humps.

Well, the best bass intro of all-time is "Haitian Fight Song" by Charles Mingus...but only myself and about 2 others on this board would even know the tune.

Hey, I mentioned Of Rage And War first! But I will give One With The World credit for Legions (can't believe I missed that one being the Savatage fanboy that I am). On a related note, Johnny Lee Middelton is a very underrated bassist IMO.
