id go with the emg's thats just me as they are just perfect for the sound i am looking for. The Dimes have an awesome sound imo too thats what amp settings are for..
Also 81 or 85 humbuckers are great pickups as well but like i said nothing beats the emg's for me

Good stuff, very recognisably Heart Collector. I've been playing for 3 years now I think, entirely self taught. I'm not great, not by far, but I find guitar great fun regardless. It's hard to not enjoy it.
I recorded this a few weeks ago, it's just mainly several layers of improv fun. I like how it turned out though, and the few people who heard it seemed to be complimentary. It'd be great to hear more opinions;

I've been playing for about 24 years, but I'm not one of your "Guitar for the Practicing Musician"-type players. I play what sounds and feels good to me and turn it into art and music from there. I'm also not one to drill and practice constantly because my temperament doesn't really permit it.
I'm not usually impressed by technique for technique's sake because technicians typically do not make great music to my ears. If a player isn't an artist first and a technician second (if at all), then I'm usually not very impressed with them past maybe a cursory listen.
That being said, I love playing and do it whenever I can and I draw influence and inspiration from several different places. Some of my music is posted at the MySpace site in my sig.

Thanks, and oh...don't I wish it was a vintage one!
I'm not sure if my particular head is still available or not, but they started producing them again in 1995 after a 15 year absence from the market, if I remember correctly. I played through one that year, fell in love with it and had to wait 8 years before I could actually get it (they're a bit pricey). I'd like to add a second cab to it at some point too and maybe try out a lower wattage head.

I've never tried a WOODEN one before! I always heard that those were more of a "boutique" version of the instrument. I can only afford the plactic and metal versions.

The dollar aisle at Toys R Us is a GOLD mine for kazoo enthusiasts.

No one should be without one of these either:
A Jaw Harp (a.k.a. Jew's Harp) first made famous by Snoopy in the Peanuts' special Snoopy Come Home (for which an alternately named "Snoopy's Harp" was marketed):
And I also seem to remember a little band named BLACK SABBATH who used one for the intro of their song "Sleeping Village" (subtitled "A Bit of Finger" - geddit?) on their debut album in 1970.
