| Anyone here play? If so what kind of music do you enjoy playing most, and how long have you been playing. I myself enjoy playing anything Hard Rock to Metal. Picked up guitar again about 8 months ago, been teaching myself all along. So far I'm doing great, better than friends who have played for over 1 year. That's me, how about you? |

| Lots of guitarists here. I'll move this thread into the music room. You might see more hits.

| been playing guitar for over 13 years now. Used to be in a metal band when i was 16 til i was about 18 then ended it due to my relationship at the time.
I love playing metal but also enjoy the blues and classic rock.
I would gladly help anyone out that needs any tips, and would love to post some of my riffs on here if anyone would like to hear them..

| I'm 9 months into my first instrament ever.....I got a guitar stand for Christmas so now it rests properly when not in use.... I'm a lefty but for reasons unknown to me it simply felt better to hold a right handed guitar. So far, so good. I'm concentrating on chords, moving back and forth amongst the strings and alternate picking... I practice about 1 hour a day. I'd love to practice 3-4 a day but I can't justify that with a family and other things to do. It's fun though and I don't mind the mindless practice so I think in a few years I might be able to sound like more than a drunken cat | |

I respect a man who admits this. For some reason everyone thinks all you have to do is buy a guitar and you're a guitarist. If that were the case, I'd go buy paint and call myself a painter like Paul Stanley does. Reminds me of a story my grandpappy told me. "I once baked a hundred pies, but did anyone call me Stan the Baker? I chopped down 50 trees, but did that make me Stan the Lumberjack? No. But have sex with ONE sheep and I'm labeled for life" My grandpappy was an odd fellow.

well its all about the sound that ur looking for. Im mostly a metal guy so i prefer emg's. I just love the sound of emg's and they're also great for all kinds of music. Seymours are great pickups. Experiment with pickups til u get the sound u want. Research on the pickups u want is also a good idea as most sights give u a sound clip of the pickup being played...

haha the amp must of had a lot of wear and tear and was up too high.. the Dimebuckers are great pickups with real good high end and sustain. Perfect for the Dean

| I've been playing bass for about 7-8 years now, and a couple years ago I got really interested in sitar, but haven't found one yet at reasonable price. Just last year I picked up guitar, and I usually just play flamenco-style music. I just started making a cigar box guitar | |
