| Most of Iron Maiden (if I want to hear female vocals I'll listen to Nightwish) Ozzy-era Black Sabbath (most) Yes (see Iron Maiden) Motorhead (possibly the worst vox this side of Bob Dylan) _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Off the Christmas list, onto the hit list!! (Just kidding, but that's an interesting if blunt take on Maiden.)

| I seriously cannot stand the stereotypical metal shriek anymore. I wouldn't even like Priest if they weren't so engrained in my psyche from childhhood. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Man, those guys are either love or hate. That album still stands to me as a watershed moment. Seminal, if you will. I know there were bands like that before and after, but that whole album is a masterpiece in my opinion.

| I don't blame this on any of the classic bands. I liked most of their stuff at one time, it's the fault of the radio programmers who played a lot of good stuff into the ground; but truth be told there are very few "classsics" that I care to hear anymore. 90% of my listening is at least somewhat underground/forgotten stuff now. It's just fresher to me. | |

| I really don't like Living After Midnight at all. Crazy Train does nothing for me. I hate Enter Sandman.
Also, for many bands, it's not that their most famous songs are bad, it's that often there are much better songs on the album. Often, the "overplayed" songs are among the "weakest". Not always, but much of the time.

| I also couldn't stand Van Halen's "Jump", though I loved the rest of 1984. That song annoyed me from day one and it became hard hearing it over and over on radio/MTV.
I wouldn't say I can't stand them, but Pink Floyd I never really got. Have some on vinyl and every time I spin it I feel like I'm missing something with it.
I love Kiss but can completely understand how people could hate it.

| I dislike any song that classic rock radio chooses to "play into the ground". Some examples include: Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle & Sweet Child O' Mine ( I LOVE the rest of this disc) Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alalbama & Free (if I hear this song one more FREAKIN time I will rip out my eardrums) Bird Van Halen - Jump (the rest of this disc is GREAT) AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC is my FAV band, and I love their entire catalogue.. BUT this song, as it has been over-played to the point of torture) Aerosmith - Dream On RUSH - Tom Sawyer KISS - Rock and Roll All Night (I LOVE KISS, and most every other song they did during the 70s, BUT this song is just CRAP!!) I could go on and on, and this list grows EVERY DAY, as Classic Rock radio stations refuse to play anything other the hit singles from classic bands... | |
