I'd have hated to see that. Being a DBacks fan, I see enough of the Dodgers, and the Sawks get too much media coverage. I love this matchup. Rays in seven.

| I too love this matchup. I like when we get new teams in the series. If the media had their way we'd see the Yankees/Red Sox and some other east or west coast team every freakin' year. Rays in 7 here too. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| While I LOVE the Yankees I do love seeing teams that havent been in the series in a long time or ever (Red Sox the only exception to this)
I liked seeing the White Sox win it last year

| I'm usually an American League guy, but I think I'm pulling Philly this year. I was really upset (right from the beginning) about my Twins trading Garza and Bartlett for Delmon Young etc. so I'm a little bitter about Tampa's success. Also I've been reading about the old Phillies pitcher Robin Roberts whom I admired because he pretty much refused to throw anything but the fastball even after he got old. His story is pretty inspiring to an old guy like me. Live or die by the fastball. That tipped me over towards Philly. | |

| Wow. The Phillies look like they're actually gonna pull it off. I hope they do it tonight at home, instead of down in Tampa. Either way, I look forward to flipping over a car and looting the city in the event of a victory. I need a new flat-screen in my living room. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | We should take estimates as to how much damage will be done if they do win. I say 1.5 mill. |

I say 1.5 mill. We haven't had a championship in this city since the '83 Sixers. That's allot of pent-up jock rage. 1.5 sounds low to me. I'm gonna go a little higher with around $2 mil. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I have seen my local teams win a combined six world championships (Pats 3, Sox 2, Celtics 1) and I have yet to feel the need to vandalize anything. I guess I just don't get some people. Btw, Dave, I know you were only joking.

| When the Packers won the Superbowl in 1997 only one person was arrested in the city of Milwaukee supposedly that night, and that was for climbing a light pole. As a Packer fan, and someone who roots for all Wisconsin teams, that's how it's done! | |

| Same thing when the Cardinals and Rams win championships. We get a few public drunkeness charges but nothing gets burned or pillaged. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Last night's game was postponed due to rain (first time that's ever happened in World Series history) ... supposedly they're going to pick up where they left off tonight, but if the rain that's pouring down outside right now is any indication, they may be outta luck again. So Philly should be safe from rioting again tonight. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I heard that they will be making a decision by 2:00 today if they're gonna finish the game tonight (Tuesday) or try to finish on Wednesday in Philly, which could possibly move the Tampa games (if necessary) to Thursday & Friday. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I'm disappointed the Phillies won, but at least two of my old-timer favorites finally have a championship ring: Jamie Moyer and Rudy Seanez. I think they both were going to retire after this year with each having enjoyed 20+ years of professional baseball, so it's good to see that. | |

| Yay Phillies! MG, did fans run riot through the streets last night, overturning cars and setting fire to cheesesteak stands? _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| From The Philadelphia Inquirer: - Quote :
- Though the crowds were generally more joyous than rowdy, there was also unruly behavior, including some looting and cars being overturned.By midnight, crowds were ebbing in most sections of the city, except for south of City Hall, near Walnut and Broad Streets, where the celebration turned ugly. A car was set afire, and a luggage store was looted before police intervened. Firefighters turned a hose on some revelers, who were preventing them from reaching trash can blazes. Around 12:40, two buses full of police in riot gear arrived on the scene.
By 1 a.m., police were moving in force to quell the disturbances, sending personnel from three different directions.
For the most part, though, fans were too relieved and too buoyant to do much damage.
