| Alien (twice)
Watched it with my girls as part of our "Summer Of Back-stories". They liked it enough to request a re-play.
Funny, when I saw this when I was 6 I was in my parents room that night sleeping on the floor scared out of my mind. They? They laugh and mock the baby alien looking around and then running off the table. No respect!

Oh. Is that when they are in the swampy or ocean-side place? The older ones sometimes run together in my mind!

| No, Day is the one that takes place in an underground military bunker where a mad scientist is running experiments on the zombies. The group is led by a powertripping egomaniac who ultimately gets pulled in half by the zombies. As they're draggin his torso away from his lower body and pulling at his intestines, he gurgles "Choke on 'em."
Not that I'm a fan of these movies or anything. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| No they're not. The new one "Diary Of The Dead" is a boring, plotless, preachy movie. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I didn't care for that one either. Too many slow bits in between vamp attacks. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I didn't care for that one either. Too many slow bits in between vamp attacks. And that sped up, jerky camera crap is really getting old. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Just caught a very interesting documentary on Starz! called "Shut Up and Sing," which followed the Dixie Chicks' journey from country-music darlings to Public Enemy #1 when they made an anti-George Bush comment onstage as the U.S. was about to go to war with Iraq.
That seems so long ago already. Kind of funny to think if they made the same comment today, they'd probably be cheered for it. History has a way of straightening things out. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I was thinking of the old ones when I wrote that. There's a glut of modern crap, for sure. But this one was Romero. Even Land Of The Dead was better than this thing. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| What's Diary Of The Dead about? You say it's recent? Haven't even heard of it.
Was Land Of The Dead the one with Dennis Hopper?

Was Land Of The Dead the one with Dennis Hopper? Diary of the Dead is basically the concept of Blair Witch and Cloverfield applied to the zombie genre. Not as jerky as BW but it's the same POV idea. And other than zombie carnage and our hero posse dying one by one, absolutely NOTHING happens. And yeah, Land was the one with Hopper. That had some interesting ideas like the zombies becoming organized behind a leader who can actually learn. Completely dropped for this new piece of crap. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Depends on the movie. I'm such a jaded horror movie fan (I love Asian horror which is much more gut wrenching than most slop coming out of Hollywood) that most horror movies don't scare me at all. The last one that came remotely close was Silent Hill because I'd never played the video game and had no idea what was coming next. The only other one was "Audition" which is a Japanese flick that plays like a romantic comedy for half the move but after that...ooooh man... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Try this one; it's French. There's a totally unnecessary "twist" that sort of ruins it after about an hour but before that, this one is excellent. http://www.amazon.com/Tension-Unrated-Widescreen-C%C3%A9cile-France/dp/B000ARFPMQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1213963753&sr=8-1 _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Legally Blond - Saw it with the wife. A coworker lent it to her. Glad it was free. Don't understand the appeal of Reese Witherspoon. Stiffler's mom was in the movie. The super-hot Final Destination chick was, too. | |
