| How would you all rate your Helloween albums? I know some of you don't like Andi Deris Helloween so rate your non-Deris albums. Some of you don't yet have Gambling With The Devil, go ahead and rate the ones you do have.
1. Keeper Of The Seven Keys Pt. 2 (my first Helloween) 2. Better Than Raw [tie] Time Of The Oath (I can't choose between these two) 3. Gambling With The Devil (I really like this one from first listen) 4. The Dark Ride 5. Rabbit Don't Come Easy 6. Helloween/Walls Of Jericho 7. Keeper Of The Seven Keys (I know it's a classic but I just don't like it as much as the others) 8. Keeper...The Legacy (not a bad album at all it's just that IMO it is the weakest of the albums I've heard)
I no longer have Keeper Pt. 1 but will re-capture it soon and I've yet to get Master Of The Rings which is also on my want list.

| 1. Keeper of the Seven Keys - Part One
- "Halloween" was my first introduction to Helloween and Power Metal in general, and it has remained my favourite Helloween song.
2. TIE: The Dark Ride/Keeper of the Seven Keys part - Part Two
3. TIE: Helloween (EP)/Walls of Jericho (love that album! ...should get the second, but it;s a very difficult decision!)
4. Gambling with the Devil (I am listening to it for the second time, so it might get higher/lower...for now...I think it's kick-ass)
WORST HELLOWEEN ALBUM: Pink Bubbles go Ape (Stupid cover art, stupid lyrics, mediocre commercial music...ergh...never did anything to me).

| I don't have the patience to go thru their entire discog (even though I own it all) so I'll just say this:
BEST: Better than Raw
WORST: Chameleon _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Here is my order of Helloween:
1. Helloween The Keeper of the Seven Keys 1 2. Helloween The Keeper of the Seven Keys 2
As with most others both of these are generally one album. Top of the line for me.
3. Helloween The Dark Ride
This album kicks. It has some awesome moments but maybe a song or 2 too long..
4. Helloween Walls of Jericho
as one who didnt like this at first once you get used to vocals this a really good cd.
5. Helloween Gambling with the Devil
Its already been said here but this is a very very good cd. Glad to see they still have it..
6. Helloween Master of the Rings
Quite possbily the album that saved Helloween. It is more commercial than most but the songs are well done and keep your attention. The b-sides to this album are also the strongest b-sides i think they have done. When the band needed to put out some top notch stuff after the kiske fiasco they came through. A great introduction for Deris.
7. Helloween The Time of the Oath
There are some really great moments here but as a whole it didnt do much for me... those great moments were very very good..
8. Helloween Chameleon
I might be one of the few who like this cd - it is very different material but when you sit down and listen to it without the helloween name it is fun. Its not metal for the most part but when i am in a rock mood this is just fine..
9. Helloween Better Than Raw
On this album deris's vocals just seem to grate on me for some reason. I do need to listen to this some more though and perhaps the impression would change...
10. Helloween Pink Bubbles Go Ape 12. Helloween Rabbit Dont Come Easy 13. Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy
I own the last three but it has been ages since any of them have had any playtime. Each has one good song and the rest are pretty filler (legacy might have 3 good songs but this did not need to be a double album...)

That's all Helloween I'd ever need. If I want more, I listen to Gamma Ray.

i don't like the last two on my list at all. I missed this thread but was gonna start a similar thread as I am sitting here listening to my favorite Helloween album "The Dark Ride". I did a quick search first and found this thread. My list would look similar to mc666. The Dark Ride is my favorite from them. For some reason when I get in the mood for them, it's the first thing I pull out. I also love their old live EP, "I Want Out: Live". _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I only own Wall Of Jericho : Expanded Version (It's Helloween/Wall of Jericho/Judas + a second CDs with different/live versions of some songs that were on the album + a bonus track) But it's a really great one. |

But it's a really great one. You can honestly stop with that one. The others may be a letdown. |

| By the looks of it, I should have listened to "The Dark Ride" before selling it. Oh well, never been much of a fan - Unless you saw me on Headbangers Ball Halloween special in '88 - right up front bangin' to "Future World". eMpTyV filmed the whole show with Grim Reaper opening at First Ave and aired it the next night. That was a pretty cool night! |
