| I'm a late bloomer to the whole MP3 Player (iPod) phenomenon. I have had a couple small players (one 512 and another 2 GB). Now for Christmas, I am going to buy a new Microsoft Zune 80 GB player. This way all of the stuff I have bought in the past year can be digitized and used more often. Finally I will have arrived in the 21st Century. I know there are some that prefer MP3s to buying physical CDs. Those of you with MP3 players, what kinds do you have? Where do you buy your MP3s? |

| I have a 4G Sansa and I like it a lot. It's easy to use, small and works well. It will never replace my CDs but I can't carry dozens of CDs with me to the park, while mowing, running, to the mall, etc..... I plan to upgrade soon so I can get ALL my music on one! | |

| I have a 2 gb Creative Zen V plus. I chose this brand based on the strength and affordibility of the computer speakers they make. Bought it refurbished from an official dealer for like $50. It works great for what I use it for. It has flash memory rather than a hard drive which as far as I understand has less problems. It has recording abilities, and also a line out cord that allows me to make mp3s just by plugging it in to the headphone jack of a regular cd player. Drag and drop add/removal for files just using the folders on my computer but is compatibles with almost all programs other than i-tunes. As far as mp3s, I make my own on my computer from the CDs I buy. As long as their are physical copies I will not pay for a digital file. For stuff I can't find, or want to sample first I get mp3s using the programs soulseek.
and if you haven't heard the Zune is outselling the ipod so far this holiday season. |

| I don't have an MP3 player, I don't plan to buy an MP3 player any time soon, and any attempts to drag me into the Digital Music Age will be met with copious amounts of kicking and screaming.

| I have an 8GB and 30GB Phillips Go Gear and I CAN NOT imagine my life before it. That thing is to me like a pacifier is to a toddler. For the longest time I wished I could play a large mix of my music like on my computer only take it to work and listen to it in my car (MP3/WMA discs only could hold 255 songs) and with an MP3 player I can. Had I known more about these in the past, I would have gotten one years ago. By the way, mine is not a replacement for my CD collectiion (I have a goal to have over 1000 by the time I'm in my early 30's-I currently have about 600) it is an accessory. | |

| I have a 30GB Creative Zen and I think it's great. Very easy interface and PC program. I should have held off, though, since they released a 60GB right after I bought the 30GB. Seems ridiculous that you could fill 30GB, but it's not hard, actually. And everything is at 128kbps, so it's not huge files. Anyway, I can't comment on the rest. The MP3 player is for the gym, basically, and when I go into town. That's it. |

| I have a iPod Nano (first gen) 2gb. I buy most of my mp3's on iTunes and if I can't find it there, I use mp3sugar.com to buy them, but only if its (Mp3sugar is great for obscure or extreme metal, especially European stuff you can't find anywhere else. But each album is only like a buck fifty, so it aint helpin' any bands for sure) something I can't find anywhere else. I've also gotten some bad mp3's from mp3 sugar. Only a few..but still, no refunds.

| I got the Phillips mainly because I didn't think it was worth spending $50 more just to have an iPod. The Philips has been in my possesion for over a year and it still works as good as it did when I bought it. Of course cheaper isn't always better, my first MP3 player was an 8GB RCA Lyra, piece of crap. It didn't hold half the songs it advertised to hold and fully charged the battery didn't last more than a couple of hours. While my Philips runs for over 9 hours fully charged. In the future, I might upgrade to one with more storage (I have way more than 30 GB of music) and spend a little more (probably a Zune because on principle I don't want an iPod because that's what every one else seems to get). | |

| I have a 4GB Mp3 player that I use at the gym or doing yardwork. I forget the brand name, but it works well enough for the little use it gets. I load it up with mp3's that I've loaded into my home computer from cd's. I don't purchase mp3's from anywhere and only download the occasional freebies that bands post. Other than that, I'm old school, listening to cd's on my home stereo, car stereo or work boom box. | |

| I have a 60GB ipod. I have about 10,000 songs on it and I still have 14GB left to fill! I really like the iPod but I don't get to listen to it as much as I would like. I need to use it in the car but I don't have a car kit yet. | |

| 8 gig third generation Nano. I had a second generation Nano that I got last Christmas, but it gave up the ghost (probably something with the battery) and so I got the third gen, thanks to the warranty. As for mp3's, the majority of them come from my CD collection, and the rest come from Ares. |

That's the one I have (I have the black one, wife has the white one) - I love it! I also have the car kit - I never have to bring CD's in the car with me. Great for my commute to work - 30 miles in Northern VA (just outside of DC) so my commute can be anaywhere between 35 minutes (usually 45 minutes) to 1 1/2 hours (on a bad day). It's great having a large selection of music with me at all times. Also great for business trips (music and since it's got video, to catch up on TV shows) My son was asking for Trans Siberian Orchestra in the car tonight (daughter wanted the Wiggles, lol!) | |

I was pressured into getting an mp3 player by my wife. We'd go to the gym and I'd be carrying my single disc walk-man and big headphones. Well, I might as well just carried a giant boom box on my shoulders like it was 1984. Everyone else had these tiny cigarette lighter-sized players strapped to their arms. I looked like a big dork. See, that there is another reason for me not to join a gym. Well, that and the fact that I'm a lazy b**tard. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I've got a 30gb Sony NW HD5, simply awsome. I got this over an Ipod due to the amazing battery life. I listen to it every day to and from work and seriously only need to charge it once a month. Also the sound quality is very good so I only record my cd's at 48bits which meens I hve over 13,000 songs on it and still just over 7gb of space left. Sadly Sony no longer make this anymore so tracking one own will be hard, but worth it. The digital age ill never stop me actually buying cd's though My MP3 player only has songs on it that I have on cd. | |

| Creative Labs Jukebox Zen 40G. It's pretty cool, but it's just about full and that sucks. I really want to get an iPod, but it will take a while to save up, especially with my salary. | |

| I got a Sony NW-A Walkman (20 GB) and the software is a disaster. The player itself is excellent but trying to put songs onto it is a nightmare as it keeps crashing the computer. |
