| Does anyone else here like this band? I know ult likes Genesis from his reviews on NoLifeTilMetal. I really enjoy their work and I'm a Phil Collins fan as well. (that's right, I just typed that) Growing up, I just knew Genesis as just the "Invisible Touch" band, which I like, but Genesis' 70's output is nothing short of amazing. Interesting, soul stirring prog-rock. When Phil Collins took over vocal duties, they slowly became the pop band we know today, but that didn't mean their music was any less interesting. I am glad I have delved into this band and I enjoy all their albums for what they are. Thoughts? |

| I like Genesis as well. My first intro to them was the pop rock stuff, which was my forte before I stumbled upon heavy metal. We Can't Dance is one of my favorite non-metal albums of all time. The Peter Gabriel stuff is great too. | |

| I like Genesis. Mainly the Gabriel-era works. With the exception of a few songs, I don't particularly like the 80's works. Which is weird, considering that I'm a Phil Collins (solo) fan. |

| One of my favorite bands. I love most of their collection up to Abacab. Everything after that was just ok. | |

| Genesis excellent band I like both line ups with Collins and Gabriel, I even like the one sole album they did with vocalist Ray Wilson, what one could call Genesis would be prog rock, of course Genesis really were a genre onto themselves, since they really do not fit in with Yes, ELP, or any other bands that were classified as such in the 70's. | |

| I got everything with Phil Collins and their first album with Gabriel but im waiting for the next box set to come out so I can complete the collection. I havent heard much with Gabriel and I heard that their first album is a lot different from the next couple of different albums they did with Gabriel. So I cant wait to hear it. I dont know what really made me say ya know what I hear Genesis all the time on the radio and I do like some of their songs so im gonna buy their albums. I luckily found their box sets rather cheap on amazon so figured what the hell. I found a lot of great songs I never even heard before and a lot that I havent heard in a long time so im glad I picked them up. | |

| Genesis rule, I got into them in my pre metal days with the pop of invisible touch and once my music tastes refined I discovered they were this amazing prog band before. I still like everything they've done and even have several Phil Collins solo albums, the man can sing. | |

| Apparently, Genesis is releasing the 1970-1975 remastered box set on November 11th. I will definitely pick this one up. | |

| I've always been a fan of Phil Collins, but I never got into Peter's solo stuff as much...Though I do love songs like Solsbury Hill. I do have a Japanese import best of Genesis, which does feature three songs with Peter in the band. I'm just leery of buying any Genesis album prior to Phil taking over at the mic, since Peter's solo stuff was always pretty hit or miss for me. Would anyone like to suggest a Genesis album with Peter in the band for me to start off? | |

Got mine pre ordered on Amazon.com. I got the other 2 pretty cheap off amazon I think around $60 each. I was going to wait to see if this one would eventually go for around the same but Im anxious to hear the peter gabriel era so I said what the hell. The only Gabriel Genesis I have is their first album and its just not the same Genesis we know. _________________

| I have that 3 disc greatest hits set. Eventually Ill delve deeper into them, but that set has all of my favorite songs, so they're on the back burner for now. | |

I love this band, but I haven't give them a chance with Peter, probably on the future.

| I've got like 5 of their albums. And I have listened to enough to say that their earlier works were better. However, I still like the later stuff that Phil Collins sang on too. My favorite album would probably be Foxtrot | |

| I grew up with the Collins led Genesis so I like that one quite well. The Gabriel led one is another band entirely and a good example of early prog. However, I've had a difficult time getting into Gabriel's voice. I definatly need to get some more (I only have Nursery Crime, and I haven't listened to it in quite some time). | |

It's weird that you say that because I know you like Fish-led Marillion and Fish is almost a sound-alike of Gabriel. |
