| Questions for Ultimatum?
Full Armor Broadcast is doing a feature show on Ultimatum. Is there anyone who would like to ask a question of the band that can be answered on air? You can leave the question here or email the question to Kuba: kuba@fullarmorradio.com

| How about this:
Knowing that there are a lot of close-minded music fans out there, is it bothersome knowing that some people will dismiss the band without even hearing the music, simply because there are Christian themes? |

That's a great question. I'll pass it along. I will say now though, that we seem to have many fans that are not Christian. Most of our local fans would probably not step foot in a church. However, there are always going to be people that won't give us the time of day just because we are labeled a Christian band. At the same time, there are many secular bands that some people won't give a listen to due to their lyrical content. Not sure it balances out, but either way, it's not all that important. We just keep doing what we do and hope people like it. If they don't, so be it. If they do, that's cool. We don't sweat the negative stuff. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I have a few questions! It goes like this... -Why Wrathchild? -Did you ever thought about doing a song like ''Lesson In Violence'' (Exodus - Bonded By Blood) or ''No Remorse'' (Metallica - Kill 'em All) ? -I discovered Ultimatum with this album (Not exactly the album...Just a few songs on your Myspace. I'll buy the album after Christmas) are you happy with the fact that some people are discovering Ultimatum with this album and not another? And the last one... This ain't a question but... The cover f*cking rule! |

The cover f*cking rule! The Wratchild question was recently asked of me by Heaven's Metal. I"ll try to find my reply to them and post it. I'll also pass it on to the radio station. We have never considered recording an Exodus song. Not that we don't like them, just something we haven't discussed. However, we have discussed recording "Creeping Death". Robert, our guitarist, REALLLLY wants to record "Creeping Death." Thanks. Rexorcist did a killer job on the cover. Everyone seems to like the cover and the layout. ult _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Found it: - Quote :
- 1. On your new disc “Into the Pit” you covered an Iron Maiden tune “Wrathchild”. Why?
For years we had been doing a cover of Vengeance Rising's "Burn" in concert. However, since we mostly play in clubs and bars, most people we were playing to didn't even realize it was a cover. Many people assumed it was our song. We thought it might be cool to start playing a song more people were familiar with. Many times at clubs we get our regular fans who know our songs, but we also get crowds of people who are unfamiliar with Ultimatum and may just be there to have a few drinks or to see another band we are performing with. We thought a song like Wrathchild would give them something to connect to. Also, we are all Iron Maiden fans in Ultimatum, so it was just a natural song for us to cover. When it came time for us to record the new CD, I just suggested that we record it too. Like "Burn"we weren't playing it note for note as Vengeance had played it. We were making the song our own, so why not record "Wrathchild" and give it an Ultimatum sound. I think we accomplished keeping the integrity of the original composition but also making the song sound like Ultimatum.
2. Do you guys enjoy doing covers? Which ones?
Yes, we enjoy doing covers. As I mentioned, we recorded "Burn" in the past, as well as "Wrathchild" and a cover of Testament's "Sins of Omission". We talked of covering other songs and I have even brought up the idea to the band about making our next release be a collection of cover songs. We've talked about a number of different songs in the past including Metallica's "Creeping Death", a few different Mortification songs, Deliverance "No Time", Riot's "Heavy Metal Machine" and even a Saint cover. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I figured this would be the answer, and it's the right one, of course. I just know that it irritates me when fans go (about any Christian band), "Screw them! I can't stand Christian bands!" And I don't call myself a Christian, you know? I don't think it would ever bother me or negatively affect my life, if I were in a Christian band, but I think things like this can always be a little frustrating from time to time. |

| Ult, I think a covers EP would be cool. You've already got the three previous covers you could add. Another two would make for a sweet little release; maybe a limited thing like the Til The End EP. The Testament cover is killer! |

| 1. Have you concidered, for future songs, to focus on different themes, lyrically, like political/social, corruption (i.e. "...Ans Justic for All"), and stuff like that, along-side your very Christian-oriented lyrics? (not saying it's bad at all). 2. It wold be very cool to hear a full-length tribute album (by various artists, you find enjoyable) from you guys. Have you concidered recording one? 3. You are awesome live! ...How about a Live-Album? Thanks, Gustav | |

Thanks, Gustav Different themes? Sure, I don't mind writing songs outside of Christian ideals. Heart of Metal is just a metal anthem. Never is a song about selling out to record companies, or just selling out in general. Blind Faith is about the Creation vs. Evolution debate. However, on Into the Pit I focused on lyrics of a more personal level for me; dealing with sin in my own life. Many songs on Into the Pit were written around that idea. Exonerate, Transgressor, Blood Covenant, were all written from that perspective. I've dealt with political issues in the past as well, but the problem with putting political ideas in your songs is that it tends to date that song rather quickly. The title track to "Perilous Times" was written from a political perspective. While somewhat veiled, the following line was directly written about President Clinton: Can't you see the end, the prophecies coming true. Slick leaders bending & twisting the truth. Lies become fact when you word them just right. Corrupt deeds are hidden in the black of the night.
Violence and Bloodshed was written as a direct result of a debate I was having with the guys in Usurper. They were making the claim that you cannot play metal and thrash and write songs about faith or love, because metal is only about violence. Who says you can't mix aggression with a message of faith. Music is an expression, with that there is no debate. Why not sing of my faith, for it's what I live. If you want message of violence, I've got a one to give.
Violence & Bloodshed
Cold steel pierce through the hands, blood spouts from the flesh, hard wood rubs at the stripes from the whips to his back. Gravity pulls down the body, lungs gasp for air. Impaled and sentenced to die for the sins of man.
Violence & Bloodshed Violence & Bloodshed, infliction & hurting, death & the suffering of man. For it is written no greater love exists than to lay down your life for a friend!
Is that violent enough for ya?
To those who try to mock us for that for which we do, We will never back down for we know our message is true. Screaming the ultimate music with real brutal truth And if you want aggression and violence I've got a message for youGreed Regime is actually a criticism of the modern church and does focus on corruption within the church. Unfortunately corruption is everywhere. Anywhere someone can take advantage of someone else, there is going to be corruption and that includes the church, goverment, etc. I guess it would be hard for me not to let my Christian beliefs show through in my lyrics. It's just who I am, so even in a song that is based around political ideas or something, I think that would still show through. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!
