Piledriver singer dead at 60

I know Freddy likes this band. The singer had a strange stage outfit… something like a medieval executioner, a Mad Max character and a gimp.

He was one day away from his 61st birthday.

Yep, I was very bummed to hear about Gord (aka Piledriver)'s passing. I had no idea he was sick, but apparently he'd been battling lung cancer for some time.

When I first started blogging years ago, one of the first entries in my "Forgotten Hard Rock Albums" series was on Piledriver's Metal Inquisition. I was surprised (and psyched) when I found out that Gord himself shared it on the official Exalted Piledriver FB page, and he even reached out to me via FB messaging to correct a couple of minor inaccuracies in my article so I could update and correct them. Our interaction was brief, but he was very appreciative and seemed like a cool, funny, all around metal-as-hell dude.

I just finished updating my Metal Inquisition piece again to include a bit about Gord's passing. R.I.P. dude, thanks for the fanboy moment. Now and forever, you are the exalted, the one and only PILEDRIVER!!

Sad news.

I had both their popular albums as a kid.
But currently - I never purchased their CDs of those albums.

Not familiar at all with this band. Need to check them out.
