Warrel Dane--Shadow Work (2018)

I looked back and didn't see any discussion of this album, which was in process when news of Warrel's passing came.

It's obviously on the shorter end, but still great that they were able to piece together what amounts to a pretty substantial work nonetheless.

It's quite different from his Praises to the War Machine solo album, and at times seems to reach back to Nevermore's later albums, especially This Godless Endeavor. I think there is some great stuff on here.

"Mother Is the Word for God" is a swan song if there ever was one.

I had almost picked it up after it came out, but it was overpriced. I think it was going for something around $20. Way too much for a short and somewhat unfinished album.

That's AMAZING! First I heard of this. And a guy like me doesn't consider 41 minutes to be very short. Going to hear this one further! RIP

That guitarist is sick!

I'd been meaning to pick it up too, waiting for the right price and eventually forgot about it.

I need to get this one too.
