Another solid offering from these guys—or this guy, I should say, since it's basically a heavier, doomier version of Anders Manga's solo darkwave stuff.
Wow. His voice is just as abrasive live. Seriously, that's actually impressive, to be able to do that same vocal night after night on tour. I own several Bullet album but the guy's "Udo voice" always starts to irritate me after 2 or 3 tracks.
Bottom line: I enjoy Bullet but only in limited doses.

Local book & music store was having a sidewalk sale today, CDs were buy 1, get 1 free. Pickin's were pretty slim by the time I got there but I snagged these two:
Lilian Axe - Poetic Justice Various - Overload: A Tribute to Metallica
I can never resist those cheap, thrown-together "tribute" albums, haha.

Volume I. Looks like mostly no name death metal bands, but it's got Steel Prophet and Prototype on it, for whatever that's worth.

Yeah, I have both. I'm a sucker for them as well. The Steel Prophet cover is basement-demo garbage, but the Prototype cover is cool. There are a few others that are decent, like the Crematorium cover of "Whiplash" and the weird goth cover of "King Nothing" with all the spooky keyboards. It's at least an original approach. Haha. The rest is typical crap.
Volume 2 is a bit better. Has some better covers, like a kick-ass melodic death metal version of "Nothing Else Matters," plus a cover of "Escape" by Last Chapter from when Robert Lowe was doing guest vocals with them.

I just pre-orderded Alice Cooper's "Breadbrumbs" 10" which comes out in the fall. He, Wayne Kramer and others from Mitch Ryder/The Gories, etc. doing 60s garage rock covers.
As essential as it gets for me personally.
They do MC5's "Sister Anne"--cannot wait to hear this.

I hope you didn't pay more than a quarter for it
Seriously, tho, I picked up a copy of that CD at a garage sale a couple of years ago, it was so unbearably cheesy and schlocky that I ditched it soon afterward. Trixter sounded like a grindcore band compared to those guys.

I paid .50, I can't believe these bastards were labeled heavy metal! That being said it is cheesy, schlocky, not as terrible as I remember, but that does not mean it was a great album. Its an AOR album by the numbers
