What SPORTS Did You Watch Today? - 2019

ESPN and MLB feel the need to show every Yankees and Red Sox game. I guess they feel all of America get out the rubber gloves and KY Jelly whenever they're aired (maybe the ratings justifies it, who knows).

FOX does that with the Cowboys too, nationally televising them every week.

I was watching a little bit of the Bucs and Brewers. Oh those scrappy Bucs.

Watched the Dodgers lose to the Braves. And then watched the Cubs beat the Pirates.

EDIT:  Oh wait, that Pirates/Cubs game was yesterday; today the Pirates are getting clobbered by Washington.  Geez, the Nats offense has been on fire lately.

The Pirates have become such a joke.

I understand your pain 007. Man, the Pirates sure have fallen hard this season. They were competitive before the All Star break but now they seem to really be phoning the season in.

Cards just took a 2-0 lead over the Brewers in the bottom of the 5th. (Sssshhhhh....Dakota Hudson has a no-no thru 5)

It's gotten to the point that I don't even watch them anymore, although I am going to the game against the Reds on Saturday.

The Reds are going to be a force next year. They've had enough offense for a while now and with the addition of Trevor Bauer they now should have enough starting pitching.

And our cheap and clueless owner and general manager will do nothing and the Bucs will be bottom feeders once again. You should have heard the nonsense Huntington was spewing on his radio show the other day. The morning show sports djs were really digging him about it today.

Hudson pulled with 2 outs in the 7th and still a no-hitter.  

The guy had thrown 110 pitches and just walked Thames so no complaints from me.

EDIT:  And Gallegos got his man.  Still a no-no after 7.

EDIT2: No-hitter broken up with 2 outs in the 8th. Still 3-0 Cardinals.

Watched the 49ers and Broncos in some NFL preseason action.

Watched the Steelers and Titans preseason game.

Watched the Dodgers lose to the Yankees last night.

I was watching Penn State and Idaho but it turned into a laugher so off it went.

Watching the second game of today's split double-header with the Reds. Cards won the first game 10-6; currently 1-0 Reds in game two. Another DH tomorrow with the Reds; if STL can win 3 out of these 5 games played in 3 days I'll be satisfied.

Watching the Cardinals try to sweep a second double-header from the Reds in two days.

Got a little bit of rain today so I caught the end of the Pirates completing a 4 game sweep of the Rockies.

Cards beat the Giants today 1-0 behind the August Pitcher of the Month Jack Flaherty. Flaherty went 8 innings and allowed only 1 hit while fanning 8. This guy looks to be a "stud" pitcher to build a starting staff around.
