NOOOO EVIL EMPIRE!!!
Braves and Nationals are on now. Yeah I know! But I have to admire the team the Yankees have put together. After adding Encarnacion, if they get any kind of starting pitching at all they are going to be tough to beat. After all they've gotten to this point in the season without half their starting roster being healthy and now those guys are coming back. I really dislike the Yankees (especially after spending 3 years in Connecticut) but you have to admit the team is built to win this year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I just hate the thoughts of them back to the World Series. Watched the Angels and Cardinals last night. Cards almost made a the 9th inning comeback. But the best part was seeing how much Albert Pujols is still loved by the St. Louis fans.

| I went to the Pirate game yesterday and watched them come back from 3 down in the bottom of the 9th and tie the game, then come back from 3 down again the bottom of the 11th and beat the Padres 11-10. Crazy game. Glad I got to see it in person. | |

I couldn't believe that final score when I saw it. Battle of the crappy bullpens. Speaking of which, looks like the Cardinals will be without their closer the rest of the season. Fireballing 22 year old Jordan Hicks has a torn UCL which 99% of the time means TJ surgery. The guy is statistically the hardest thrower in MLB, regularly topping over 100mph. I guess with throwing that hard Tommy John was inevitable. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I guess the Padres bullpen was a little worse on that day.

| Adam Wainwright pitched well allowing 2 runs in 7 innings while fanning 9 but the Cardinal offense was a no-show and they lost to the A's again 2-0. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I'm watching the Yankees/Red Sox from London. What a game those Londoners are getting; Yankees sent 10 men to the plate in the first and scored 6 runs, Red Sox sent 10 men to the plate in the first and scored 6 runs. 6-6 after 1. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| That's the only game on in my area but I'd rather watch paint dry than another game of "baseball's greatest rivalry". Yawn... | |

| 17-13 NY was the final. Holy crap!
And the players said it really didn't have anything to do with the stadium. In other words it was just really lousy pitching. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| After getting totally waxed last night 12-2, I'm watching the Cardinals offense again struggle to score as they're trailing the Padres 3-2 in the 8th. It doesn't help that the team leader in homers and RBI, Marcel Ozuna, is out for who knows how long after fracturing two fingers on a pickoff play Friday night. But every team has injuries and STL was struggling to score runs even with Ozuna so that's no excuse. This team just has too many players underperforming.
EDIT: Cardinals ended up salvaging the last game in SD 5-3. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| The NL Central is a free-for-all; literally anyone could win it. I mean the Reds are in "last place" and they're a whopping 3 1/2 games out.
I knew the NL Central would be wild but not like this; I thought the Cubs, Brewers and Cardinals would be well above .500 and battling it out. I sure didn't think the whole division would be hovering around .500 _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
