I display empty bottles/cans from these "band beers" on top of my CD cabinet. I've seen the AC/DC stuff in my local shop, but it was in cans, so I passed. I think I still have a bottle or 2 or Trooper in the back of my fridge. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | And the beer/band connection rolls on: - Quote :
- According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Stone Brewing Co. and the band Metallica will be teaming up for Enter Night, a 5.7 percent ABV pilsner that will be packaged in 16-ounce cans.

| And then there's this: - Quote :
- A new packaged stout from Prairie Artisan Ale is conditioned on an adjunct that is not used very often.
In an email, Zach Prichard, owner of Prairie, told Tenemu that beer is Double Dunk, an imperial stout conditioned on Oreo cookies. The stout was first released as a draft-only option eariler this year, but this is the first time it has been packaged.

| Yeah I'd buy that on tap in a heartbeat if I found it.
One of my biggest scores of 2018 was finding Founder's KBS at Sam's Club. I bought 6 bombers of it. When I went back to buy more a few days later it was gone. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Today I picked up Boulevard's "Great Eight" Barrel pack. It's 8 beers, two each of their bourbon barrel quad, their BB whiskey stout and two I've never tried before: a brandy-barrel aged Belgian and a rum-barrel aged imperial stout.
I tried the rum imperial stout tonight (which weighed in at a whopping 14.5% ABV) and I enjoyed it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

It was warm weather when I had it. Still warm here in NC. Drank a Wicked Grove Pear Cider last night. It wasn't bad. | |

| Tank 7 is pretty good IMO. Most of Boulevard's "standard" beers like Tank 7 and Devil's Glass are. Where they get problematic is their "specialty" beers. That's why I was pleasantly surprised by the rum barrel imperial stout. I think their BB quad is meh and so is their BB stout. But then again their "Rye on Rye" and "Rye on Rye on Rye" series were outstanding.
I thought the rum barrel stout was so good I may be going back to buy another of these 8packs especially if the brandy-barrel Belgian is any good. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I actually agree with you for the most part. The big exception though is Schlafly's. My friend and fellow beer snob agrees with me that Schlafly's is the gold standard for pumpkin beers. He's even stopped trying anybody else's version. I may join him because the few new ones I've tried this year have ranged from meh to drainpour. Even Dogfish Head's; I thought that might give Schlafly a run for the money. Nope. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Finally found Founders "Curmudgeon's Better Half" today. I've been looking for it for a month. It's their Curmudgeon Old Ale aged in bourbon barrels previously used for maple syrup. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
