| Still waiting for both my copies! Guess I shouldn't complain since the CD I'm getting is free, but damn man, I thought they said it would ship so it arrived on or close to release day. I knew the vinyl wouldn't get here all that fast since I ordered it from their UK store, but thought I would at least have the CD here by now. Really making it hard to to go on youtube and just listen to it that way. Don't want that to be my first listen, so I am holding out. Just not sure how much longer I can hold out! | |

| Just got my CD tonight, and holy shit this album rocks! Never saw this one coming, they f*cking nailed it. Already on my second listen, and I don't see this coming out of my car stereo any time soon either. Not really a weak song on it in my opinion. Flame Thrower maybe? Even that is still decent. If this is the last Judas Priest album, then they will have gone out on top. | |

Yeah it was their first U.K top 10 since British Steel (#5) but you have to take into account that it sold fewer in the first week than AoR and some of the sales were part of the tour deal. The record business is dying but 48,000 in the first week is really good for a bunch of guys pushing 70 in this market.

| I finally downloaded it from iTunes last night. Holy cow this thing SMOKES! I have some real life issues going on at the moment so I didn't get around to downloading it until last night (can't find the CD anywhere). When I first clicked on it to "download now for 9.99". It kept erroring out saying something like "try again later, this item is being edited". I thougth "edited? for what?". About 10 min later I refreshed and tried again and the price went up to 10.99. Thought I might get a bonus song or something but nope, regular version "mastered for iTunes" and it sounds good.
I will say this is the first NEW Priest release I have bought since Painkiller. I consider myself a casual fan and mostly enjoy the 70's stuff (Unleashed being my favorite but my favorite tune of all time is the double whammy - The Hellion/Electric Eye).

| I threw this info out to some friends and see if there was any interest in going.
Despite my disliking of that Camden venue, I might have to check out Priest one last time. Seeing DP for the first time (and conceivably last time) would just be icing on the cake. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Nevermind the venue, Camden in general is the New Jersey equivalent of Detroit. (shudder) If you're gonna come to Jersey, it'd be worth driving a few extra miles to see'em up the road at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Nice venue, way less urban decay. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I like Deep Purple (or should I say "liked"), but it doesn't really help an aging band to go on tour with another even more ancient band.
Touring with a couple of younger bands, like maybe Godsmack or Iced Earth or something, would help them look a lot more relevant.

Oh, I know of the blight that is Camden, NJ. It's a straight shot across the bridge from Philly and mostly highway, so you're bypassing the riff-raff. I actually don't mind that as much as the venue itself. It's an open-end amphitheater. I guess as long I get a seat and avoid the open lawn area, it'll be ok. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Do either of these bands give a damn about looking relevant anymore? They have their fan base who realize that it all might end any time so will most likely turn up. One of Priest's biggest failings was changing what they were in an effort to be relevant. I'd much rather they just do what they do.

| I agree, I can't imagine either band will be touring that much longer.
I don't think it does Deep Purple any favors going on after Priest though. Their stage show is bare bones and will almost certainly come off as comparatively bland after JP, much as it did on last year's tour with Alice Cooper opening.

You can't imagine a world where Andy Sneap, Richie Faulkner, Scott Travis, and an unknown bass player carry on with Tim Owens on vocals? Or a Halford hologram on vocals? We're not far from that reality already. These bands are basically brands/franchises at this point. Open your own local Judas Priest franchise!

I'd be cool with that. Did the 49ers fold when Joe Montana retired?

I was hemming & hawing over it, but my buddy John busted my stones enough so I ordered us up a pair for the Sept. show in Camden. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
