| It's a battle of the crappy bullpens all weekend.
I bet my pen can out-dumpster-fire your pen. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| See?
11-3 lead to start the 8th. It's now 11-6 and the Bucs have two runners on.
Man our pen sucks!
EDIT: Now it's 11-8. Thankfully the Pirates ran into an out. But good grief our bullpen has been like this all freakin' year. Matheny has to just put names in a hat to figure out who to bring in because everyone has SUCKED!!! _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| So your really think you have the worst bullpen 007????
Seriously???
We took an 11-3 lead into the 8th inning. Surely any bullpen can hold that lead right? Well now with one out in the bottom of the 9th it's 11-8 and the Pirates have the bases loaded.
EDIT: Now 11-10. Pirates still have the bases loaded but now there are two outs.
11-10 final. Well we tried to give the game to you. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Ha! After that Carpenter homer I turned the game off, went outside and started a bonfire and drank some beer. I just came in to check the score and saw that the Bucs clawed their way back to a respectable score. Oh well. At leady football and hockey will be starting soon. | |

| Watched the Pirates beat St. Louis 6-4 tonight.
Wacha just wasn't the same after a nearly 2 hour rain delay.
Tomorrow night's game should be interesting. Both teams are flying into a tiny airport in Williamsport, PA tonight and will be met by the teams playing in the Little League World Series. Then tomorrow night's game will be played in a minor league park there that has been upgraded to MLB standards. I'm curious to see how many fans it seats. The game is on ESPN tomorrow night. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I didn't catch any of the game (went to the local amusement park and also got caught in that rain) and I'll probably miss the beginning of tonights game sine I'm going to the Steelers preseason game and it will end around the start of the baseball game. I saw on quick pitch that the minor league stadium only seats 2500. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BB%26T_Ballpark_at_Historic_Bowman_Field

| That Little League Classic game was pretty cool. Only 2500 people in the stadium because that's all it could hold. The sound of the ball off the bat was completely different than what you're used to, much louder.
The coolest part was the features they showed of the MLB players interacting with the Little Leaguers during the day. Kolten Wong sitting in the team bus with several players, Yadier Molina talking to the LL catchers, Josh Harrison running around trying to get all the LL players' autographs, Tommy Pham buying over 200 sno cones for the LL kids during a game...
I hope they do this game every year. It looked like the MLB players were having at least as much fun as the LL players.
Too bad the Pirates won but it was still a neat event and both sides seemed to enjoy it. I also liked that both teams made a line after the game and shook hands just like the Little League kids do. Nice touch. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Caught the end of a crazy baseball game between the Pirates and Dodgers. Rich Hill pitched a no hitter (and perfect game until an error in the 8th) all the way to the 9th. Trevor Williams of the Pirates though was able to keep the Dodgers off the board. It went into the 10th and the Pirates got their only hit with a walk off solo shot by Josh Harrison. | |

| I saw that game.
And today I saw WWE RAW..er, I mean the Yankees vs Tigers.
4 hit batters, 8 player ejections and two bench clearing brawls that were actual BRAWLS with punches thrown; not your typical pushing and shoving baseball brawls.
EDIT: Looks like I missed one; there were actually THREE bench-clearing brawls in that game. And apparently some of the Tigers were even getting into it with EACH OTHER in their dugout. What a crazy gae! _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Heartbreaking loss for Hill. Watching the Chargers and Rams preseason game.

| Watching the Cardinals / Brewers game and Matt Carpenter just homered.
That means $30K to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Yesterday Carpenter pledged $10K for every homer he hits until the end of the season and Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals each pledged to match it.
Carpenter and his wife are from the Galveston area in Texas. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I've been watching a lifeless Pirates team play the Cubs. This is clearly a team that has given up on the season. Sad, really. | |

| Today I watched the Cardinals lose a heartbreaker to the Brewers 6-5. Keon Broxton brought back what would have been a go-ahead two run homer with two out in the 9th to preserve the win. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watching the Cardinals beat up on Madison Bumgarner and the Giants.
I'm not a Giants fan or a Giants hater but after what Bumgarner did this season by getting hurt on a dirt bike during the season and thereby removing himself from the majority of the season, I love seeing him get clobbered. If I was a Giants fan I'd be pissed about the whole situation; Bumgarner should have to give back his salary for the season IMO.
This has been another good start by Luke Weaver. He looked good last year in his "cup of coffee" callup at the end of the year and he's looked good again this year as the replacement starter for Wainwright multiple times this season. I bet this kid is in the starting rotation for the whole season next year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watching the Cardinals at Padres. The Cardinals are just asking to lose this game. It's in the 6th inning and so far Carlos Martinez has the Padres shut out on just 2 hits but the Cardinals have managed only 2 runs on their 7 hits. This has "bullpen dumpster fire" written all over it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
