| Just finished watching the Pirates spank the Cubs, 12-0. Josh Bell continues to tear it up with his 24th home run and 4 RBI. | |

| Just got done watching JD Martinez and the Diamondbacks demolish the Dodgers 13-0. JD hit 4 HR's off four different pitchers making him the third hitter in baseball history to do that. Robbie Ray was pretty impressive as well striking out 14 and going 7.1 innings. This has given them an 11 game winning streak, which is just crazy considering how badly they were playing before this streak. Baseball is a strange game at times lol | |

| Good for Robbie Ray. Nice to see him back and pitching well after getting hit by that vicious line drive in St. Louis. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watched the Pirates steal a game from the Cubs by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th and taking the lead 4-3. | |

| Oh boy...the Cardinals are really going for it now...
We traded for Juan Nicasio from the Phillies. That makes STL his third team this year and 5th team since 2011. Nothing says "playoff push" like trading for a journeyman reliever. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| The Pirates wasted a great outing by Gerrit Cole. 8 solid innings blown by Daniel Hudson in the 9th as the Bucs lost 1-0 to the Cubs. | |

| After an hour or so rain delay, I wastvhed the Cubs at the Pirates game. As it slowly got out of hand for the Pirates, I switched over to watch the first half of the Chiefs/Patriots game. Used this morning that the Chiefs ended up winning. | |

| Watching Luke Weaver continue to cement his spot in the Cardinal starting rotation next year. He's already 4-1 this year and has 29 Ks in his last three starts before tonight. He's already got 7 Ks through 5 tonight against the Pirates and the Cards just took a 4-0 lead in the 5th. This kid looked pretty good last year and he's looked really good this year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Today in between watching Hurricane Irma coverage (my parents are right in the middle of its path but are fine so far), I watched the Cardinals finish off a sweep of the Pirates 7-0.
Thank you Pirates for barely showing up for this series, we needed it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Good day for sports. I watched my Packers beat up the Seahawks. Living in Seattle for the past 12 years has made my not like the Seahawks very much. It was fun watching them win the superbowl a few years ago, but I lived here when they sucked, and their fans are really fair weather fans if you ask me. When they were terible, you never saw people in Seahawks gear. Rarely heard anyone talk about them. Now after some good years, it's everywhere.
Anyways, D-Backs also won. Dodgers also continue their slide with a 10 game losing streak. It's highly unlikely they will lose the division, but man I think it would be the greatest thing in the world if they did.

Thank you Pirates for barely showing up for this series, we needed it. You're welcome. I think their ready for the season to end. Thankfully football has started and I watched the Steelers beat the Browns despite the 13 penalties for 144 yards.

| Watched the Pirates beat the Brewers last night 7-0. After looking putrid against the Cards the previous series, the Pirates actullay looked like a good team last night. Brault pitched 6 scoreless innings, giving up only 1 hit, while getting 2 hits himself, driving in 2 and scoring a run as well on a home run by Marte. | |

| Today I watched the Indians win their 21st game in a row, a new AL record (and for my money a new MLB record).
The most amazing thing to me is that during the 21 game stretch they've only trailed for a total of 5 innings (!) _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watched the Pirates lose again to the Brewers 8-2, behind the highly erratic pitching of Tyler Glasnow. | |

| Cards beat the Reds 5-2 behind Luke Weaver who is now 6-1. This kid will be in the starting rotation next year; his ERA is now 1.89 _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

The Pirates guaranteed themselves a second losing season in a row by getting swept by the Reds,of all teams. Now the difference between the Cards and Bucs will appear in the off season. The Cards will do all they can to improve, the Bucs will basically stand put.
