| Watched the Pirates spank Jon Lester and the Cubs today, 14-3. Lester threw over 50 pitches and didn't even make it out of the 1st inning as the Buds plated 10, including a grand slam from Cervelli. | |

I watched the Cardinals shutout the Mets 6-0. Rookie shortstop Paul DeJong had himself one hell of a series with 3 homers and 4 doubles. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I saw a pic of Aaron Judge (all 6'8" of him) standing next to Jose Altuve (all 5'6" of him). Hilarious. It looked like a 7 year old standing next to a basketball player.
Judge is one big dude; 6'8", 280 lbs? That's defensive end size in the NFL. And yet this behemoth is playing rightfield for the Yankees. I give him a couple more years out there before he moves to first base. That's just too much wear and tear on that big body to risk losing all that offensive power. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watching the Cardinals at Pirates and the Pirates fans are booing their own team, and with good reason.
First of all it's the bottom of the 4th and Gregory Polanco belted a ball to left centerfield but instead of running it out, he thought it was gone and was cadillacing around the bases. So when the Cardinal outfield misplayed it he could only get as far as second base.
THEN...Molina struck again. Polanco took third after the batter was walked and Molina threw behind him as Polanco wandered of third base. After a review Polanco was called out. Then Gerritt Cole hit a routine grounder to Gyorko which Gyorko promptly threw way high to first base but because Cole wasn't running Carpenter was able to pull the ball down and step on the base for the out. If Cole had been hustling he probably would have been safe.
I'd be booing too if I was a Pirates fan; that whole inning was inexcusable. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I only caught the first 2 innings of the game. The Pirates really looked lackadaisical last night from what I saw. Somehow, I saw the Pirates won 5-2. | |

| Glad I missed most of that one. I watched the first few innings before going out to the drive in. I listened to the game on the way and it was the inning that the Cards scored 3. | |

| See what I mean?
3-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th and Cecil "The Seasick Sea Serpent" gives up 2 runs for yet ANOTHER Cardinal bullpen loss. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Not with our bullpen.
And this time I can't blame Matheny. Sung Hwan Oh (-no) has been horrible; that's who blew Friday's game. Cecil, who earlier in the year you didn't even want to see in a blowout game, came into this one with 15 2/3 scoreless innings. Of course those were mostly in low-leverage situations; he hasn't saved a game since 2015 with Toronto. But Matheny decided to roll the dice and came up craps again.
I say promote some kids from Memphis and let's see if any of them can get people out in the 9th because it's obvious no one on the current roster can. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Your Dodgers sure are on a roll nevermore.
This is looking more and more like a Houston/LA World Series and I'd be OK with that; some great matchups there. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watched Michael Wacha throw the first complete game of his career and it was a 5-0 shutout of the Mets. He only gave up 3 hits while fanning 8 and walking 1. Wacha hasn't looked that good since he came up back in 2013. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| That's how I used to feel about the Braves. I loved watching them lose mainly because of that stupid "indian" chant and the fact that they won the division year after year after year.
But now they have former Cardinals Jaime Garcia and Matt Adams, they don't have "Chipper" Jones (what kind of nickname is that?) or Tom Glavine (who along with Greg Maddux got so many balls called strikes) anymore and they aren't managed by Bobby Cox so that flame of hatred has sort of gone out. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| The Pirates beat the Brewers for the third straight game. After Gerrit Cole pitched phenomenally for 7 innings, the Bucs' bullpen struck again, giving up a homer to give them a 2-1 deficit. Fortunately for them Cervelli was able to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th and walk it off in the bottom of the 10fh by Max Moroff,of all people. | |

| The Cardinals bullpen struck again too today. Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th, the Mets had runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs and the batter hit a grounder between 1st and 2nd. Rosenthal failed to cover first and it's game over. The Cards are 3-4 on this road trip so far and 3 of the 4 losses have been in the 9th inning and by 3 different pitchers, so they're spreading the suckiness around. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
