| No worries. He coughed up a run but that's all you get from the anemic Pirates. It's the first of three for your Cards. I haven't checked the listings yet but I'll bet tomorrow's game will be preempted by the Penguins game. | |

| Lynn was outstanding tonight.
Tomorrow we'll see if Mike Leake can keep it going. He's easily been the Cardinals' best starter so far with an ERA less than 1.00.
But the same things that have haunted the Cardinals so far this year were there again tonight; lack of timely offense and the bullpen dumpster fire. At least they didn't throw the ball all over the diamond like they have been this season.
That was a great start by Nova. Now he knows what it's like to be a Cardinal starter. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I just don't get it. How stupid do you have to be to use PEDs now when you know damn well you could be tested? It was different back in the "steroid era" because there was no testing. But now?
The guys on the Hot Stove show on MLB Network were talking about this during this past off-season. They think eventually guys like Bonds and Clemens might get in to the Hall Of Fame because there was no testing when those guys were juicing but someone like Manny Ramirez will never get in because he kept doing it even after testing was implemented. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| "Neglect and lack of knowledge". How could you not know? Well, it'll be interesting to see how the Buds move forward. I wouldn't mind seeing them call up Meadows, but somehow I doubt it. | |

| Here we go. Typical Cardinals. Man on third no one out and don't score. Just watch how it's done. EDIT: The only way we got around that bugaboo was a checked swing. We've sucked at getting runners in from third with less than two out for the last several years though. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Luckily for me, the Pirates @ Cards game is onMLB Network so I'm able to watch it. I've been avoiding the Penguins game because I fully expect the Blue Jackets to pull this game out. | |

| I enjoy watching games on MLB Network.
I like hearing what other teams' announcers sound like. I hate the Yankees and the Red Sox but I really enjoy their announcing crews. On the other hand I'm indifferent to the White Sox but I HATE hearing Hawk Harrelson on broadcasts.
I used to think the Cardinal announcers were pretty bad until I started watching other teams' broadcasts on MLB Network. Some of the broadcast teams I've seen on there make the Cardinals' announcers sound like Emmy winners. Geez, if you ever want to go to sleep watch a Mariners or A's game. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I don't know what the Pod People did with the Mike Leake we had last year but I sure as hell hope they keep him because this Mike Leake is completely different. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Oh no. Brett Cecil in to throw gasoline on the fire.
I didn't like this contract when it was signed and so far this year I hate it even more. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| As I had said, I fully expected the Pirates to be swept by the Cards. Two down, one to go. I'm getting a sinking feeling that this is going to be a long season. | |

| God. A home run already. and as anemic as the offense has been, my confidence in any type of competitive game is near zero. | |

| Are the Pirates seriously going to lose 3 straight games 2-1?
Answer: Not if our bullpen has anything to say about it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Wow, that has to sting. If you're going to get swept do it like the Cardinals did in New York and get clobbered. Losing three straight 2-1 games sucks.
But you sure called that one 007. If we'd have bet on your prediction I'd certainly have lost. The Cards came into this series after being swept by the Yankees and the Pirates came in off a sweep of the Cubs. No way I would have predicted this. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Wow that was a bad series for the Pirates. Talk about some bad offense. I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg for them. They host the Yanks this weekend. Yikes! | |

| Yeah the part that really is demoralizing is that the Pirates wasted 3 fine starting pitching performances.
You can blow off a sweep where your team gets clobbered every game but to lose three straight by identical 2-1 scores really sucks. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
