MYSPACE- LOVE IT/HATE IT!!!

Use it mainly for music, as for chatting with friends I use facebook.

I like it for the check out new music factor....and I am pretty tight with who I accept as my friends....so the creepiness is kept to a minimum....

I am on there finding bands. Only a couple of my actual friends have myspace so I just am finding/listening to bands. Thats how I found Avenger To Blood, leading me to Sodom and Kreator and Destruction, then to Merciless Death to Execution so I like it.

There probalbly are it's just that at this point of time I am in desperate need to get a second part-time job or a full-time job that pays at least $13-15 an hour. I met some other metal fans when I saw Leaves' Eyes and Kamelot but was separated from them (first some big jerk with a camera pushes me out of the way to get a better shot and later some mosh pitters knock me towards the right of the stage). When I get my finances in order then I plan of making regular (probably once a month) visits to Ridglea Theater (although I am a little aprehensive about it due to some of the stares I got when I mentioned that I was a Christian). Perhaps the Lord could use me somehow to reach others or maybe even set me up to fullfill my dream to be a frontman, only He knows for sure.

That is why I am glad that more Christian metal is getting mainstream attention (it would allow more to tour and possible come here someday). I also dream of perhaps going to Cornerstone to be with other like-minded metal heads (maybe even being on stage there someday) but I have more immediate concerns at this point in time.

I had to choose between the Kamelot show and the Sonata Arctica show because they were only 4 days apart. Between the money and the long drive from Abilene I couldn't justify both concerts in such a short time!

BUT! I plan on making as many at Ridglea as I can money and schedule allowing. Finntroll is there Oct 9 but I'll probably have to pass....

I had the same problem only in reverse. I like both bands but in the end I figrued I like Kamelot more (although I didn't like to make such a decision).

So far I am not liking myspace one bit. All the friend requests are from slutty chicks looking for a good time. As a Christian who has struggled with lust all my life, I don't need that kind of temptation. Not to mention I have no flippin' clue as to what to do with my profile other than share my interests. Not to mention I don't have much time or interest these days to do any blogging.

Once you establish a page you won't get those. They prey on new members who don't know any better, thinking some hot chick wants to be friends with them. You'll only get spyware, malware, and viruses (the PC kind). You can also set it up so friend requests can't be done by bots, they'll have to enter a code and such, which bots can't do.

I figured as much, that is another reason I've denied all those requests. With my ugly mug on display I'm not nieve enough to think hot chicks want to be my friend. Even if I didn't care about having a lust problem I would take advice my dad gave me when I was a dumb teenager, "If it sounds too good to be true...It usually is." or "believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see."

It is official, I hate myspace and will probably cancel it. Still getting spam, spam, and more spam. I tried putting a disclaimer on my profile (even though it probably wouldn't work) but then I get an Internet Explorer error. Same thing happened when I tried to blog on the subject of the spam I get. To make matters worse I send out invitations to friends but when I look at my invitation history I see it says zero outstanding invites, like I never sent anything. I tried e-mailing myspace customer service and all they did was tell me how to edit my profile which I KNOW how to do but I am just not allowed to do. Myspace sucks!!!!

Willy Buford is still alive a kicking. Haha. Yeah, I'm going to start a site like Ult's and Kmorg's. The design of it is just taking a while, so I figure I'd do a MySpace page first. The name is a bit silly, but I figure Def Leppard is the first band I was into, so why not name it after one of their best tunes?
