New Death Angel in the works

Just saw this on their Facebook page. I don't know, I like it. I prefer the last two covers, but I like the simplicity of it.

I f*cking hate bugs, especially moths, and generic metal skulls.

But I guess they were tired of being confused for a symphonic power metal band with their colorful, vibrant dreamscape artwork.

I hear ya. I find it a tired style myself.

But for some reason those past two covers just scream out to me. I can't explain it.

For the record I don't find this new cover bad. Just a little under par.

The recent "Thrashumentary" was quite interesting (IMHDO)

I've sorta lost interest in these guys over the last few albums, but I will say that I kinda dig the new album cover too. Sometimes simple is better.

Sounds alot better than the last couple of albums. I am really glad the are getting away from the "Swarm/Organization" vibe.

I dunno, unc, it nearly sounds derivative of anything on Dream Calls for Blood. Though I still dig it.

Songs sound good to me. DA is an automatic buy for me anyway.

It's really strong, a slower pace than the past couple, more groove, VERY memorable shit.

I haven't heard it, but that gives me hope.

While I really enjoyed their "comeback" album, The Art of Dying, the last few albums have been too chaotic and noisy for my tastes. They were trying too hard to be all "brutal and intense" to keep in step with the musical climate at the time and lost the melody and subtle changes that made them memorable to me.

Agreed. I like the last couple, especially certain tunes, but they're a bit repetitive and monotonous for my tastes to listen through in one sitting. But I love Act III, so what do I know?
