| When you have the type of budget Maiden has available this makes perfect sense for touring. |

This is crazy. That plane is HUGE. What I'm more interested in is the following snippet from that link: - Quote :
- Shows in SOUTH AFRICA
Maiden are probably the only band out of my favourites big enough to be able to perform here, although I had no expectations of them ever actually doing so. So this is the best news I've heard in a long time.

| Doing a great big world tour and flying a flippin' jumbo jet everywhere! I hope Bruce isn't taking on too much given his recent illness. | |

| Seems a bit like a bucket list item. Not in a morbid way, or anything - just "Oh crap, I've been reminded of my mortality. I need to MAXIMIZE my ass kicking potential. What's a bigger plane than the big planes I've been flying? I'll pilot THREE OF THEM! AT THE SAME TIME!"
"Um... Bruce, you can only pilot one plane at a time."
"$#@%... Well, what's the biggest one they make?"

That's one thing that worries me just a little. Their longest album, their biggest plane, a tour that's going to places they haven't been to before (or not in a long time). If they wanted to go out on a high then they probably won't get a better opportunity. I really hope that's not the case though.

| Doesn't necessarily have to be an "I've got six months to live" bucket list item. None of these guys are in their 20s. Might have just driven home the point of, "Use the time while you've got it."
Not a bad lesson to take away for anyone, actually.

| I'm so stoked for this album. There has never been Maiden album I didn't enjoy at least a little (I love all of them to varying degrees minus Virtual XI).
The Final Frontier came out when I was a little seventh grader, and now I'm a freshman in college and I'm just as excited about this album as I was about it; if not a little more excited. And I'm definitely going to see them with my dad when they tour the states, he's always wanted to take me to one of their shows. The last time he saw them was in Nashville in 83, which I will always be jealous of.

Over the years The Final Frontier grew onto me, from "eh, nothing that special" to "that's actually pretty good", i guess no small thanks to the awesome Iron Maiden mod for Left 4 Dead that utilized the opener of TFF for the final stats in the game. I can't wait for The Book of Souls. I'm excited and also curious how they handle the long running time of the album

I haven't been buying many albums the last couple of years, but I will be getting this one. The first single has peaked my interest. I agree with another poster, it reminds me of something one would have heard off "Somewhere Out of Time".

I hope not. If you expect disappointment then that is most likely what you will experience. Keeping a completely neutral frame of mind is the best policy. |

| I think that's the best way to approach Maiden and a lot of older Metal bands. Thinking that it's going to be like it was 25-30 years ago is setting yourself up for disappointment as a fan. | |

Agreed. Just go in with an open mind and you'll more than likely be satisfied with the product.

Me too. I don't typically pre-order stuff, but I just can't wait for this one. I'm not even 100% sure what makes it "deluxe", but I damn well ordered it anyway. Up the irons!! Scream for me, Long Beach!! Iron Maiden's gonna getcha!! _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | In anticipation of the new album, I revisited the maiden catalogue and played a matter of life and death for the first year in over 6 years. Damn I had forgotten how good this album actually is.
anyways, and regardless of whether we will enjoy the book of souls or not, I am glad Bruce is fine and kicking.

| I've listened to the leak. It's a good album, on par with the other reunion releases.
I think it's best to approach this as 2 albums released simultaneously instead of a single release. I listened to disc 1 then took a break for a couple hours and then listened to disc 2. It's far too long for a single release, but split in half it's two mostly solid albums of new material.
I'll refrain from posting any specifics until the album is officially released, I want to hear the high-res version so I'm not judging the album based on an .mp3 rip. |

| I'm off from work on Friday, so I'm hoping that the little indie record store that I pass on my way home from work will have their copies on Thursday night so I can grab one a little early. They've been known to do that in the past. Otherwise I may have to manufacture an excuse to get out of the house for a couple of hours on Friday to go pick one up _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
