I miss his abrupt and brutally honest style.

| I was wondering the same thing. I actually looked up his last post about a month ago, which happened to be on New Years Eve. I wonder if his New Year's resolution was to take a sabbatical from the H.O.M. boards for the year? | |

| This forum has some of the nicest people I've ever met in the metal fandom. I can't find the ammount of kindness on other metal forums spanning over 1,000+ members that I get from the mere 10+ active folks here on the forum. And to know the board is run by a very knowledgable, generous guy like Scott who is legit as far as being a true metal afficionado goes, it's certainly a rare treasure. As they say, quality over quantity. But I assume some members may find it boring who are used to the more savage and rude treatment freely exercised on other more popular communities. Very sad, but a common trend. I would like to see more posts by 80's Metal Lady regarding tranny metal singers like the guy from King Kobra or debates over who is the most feminine man currently in the metal world. Stuff like that makes me laugh aloud. | |

| That means an absence of bloody and gory album covers in the playlist thread . Actually, I don't care for album covers like that and besides, I don't post in that thread anymore. However, he was always a cool guy. One of the very few atheists I've come across online who wasn't militant about it. | |

| I too have wondered about his absence... he was a regular here since I joined, and refreshingly not Politically Correct! I hope he is doing well.

| It seems like the funny/entertaining people like mc and SpectreFate quietly disappear. They don't bother with the whole farewell thread/announcement thing. Same with Trog, although he occasionally checks in. | |

Do you mean Shlomobebop? If there was a Heart of Metal boards Jeopardy game and Scott was the host, there would have to be a category under "Bizarre names on the Heart of Metal Boards and their spelling" in the double Jeopardy round. Shelelebop would definitely be the $2000 question. I'm guessing if you pulled 100 posters on here, maybe five of us would be able to get this right, though that might be a stretch.

| Schloopy was a mainstay for years, I remember him being maybe 16, then one day he announced he was gay ( we all let out a collective yawn-none us cared) then he disappeared | |

Yeah, I remember him. What about that schbopo kid? Everyone used to give him crap about what his screen name meant. Totally forgot about that kid, he was a trip. I liked SpecterFate too when he was around. Honestly, MC is the only guy absent that I think about every once in a while. I remember he did this once before in taking a long sabbatical. Maybe he'll never come back again. Kick ass guy, had one of the baddest beards ever, truly knew his music, and I didn't know of 99% of the bands he listened to, but he was definitely well versed in all forms of metal music and had a wicked sense of humor.

I always thought that was cool of him.

i missed that too. Hmmmm. News to me. I've must have missed that one as well. Not that it makes a difference. I missed out on that one as well. Then again, there are stretches where I will take a long leave of absence from this place. I often refer to myself as the most unrecognizable poster on these boards, who has nearly 2,500 posts and seven years under my belt. As it relates to making an announcement regarding one's coming out, I find it curious as to why Slobodanobopo would do that here? Though I'm a supporter of that community, there are very few who "really" know each other on here. In general, I find this place to be open minded and friendly and I like most of the debate, but I'm not sure what there is to gain by announcing that here? A lukewarm response to such an announcement probably could be as demoralizing as a total rebuke. I don't know...
