| Al Hrabosky on the Cardinal broadcast is already saying that letting Lyons bat here in the 4th is a calculated risk because of Lyons' track record the second time through a lineup. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| If we can get 5 innings out of Lyons and still have a 6-0 lead, then I'll take our chances. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Well that was pathetic. It was pretty much a done deal after the debacle the other night, but congrats to the Cards in winning the division. Now to try and take out Arrieta and the Cubs in the wildcard game. Good luck with that one. | |

Yeah it's almost unfair that that is how it works out. The team with the second best record in baseball might get eliminated in one game. But you never know; I'm pulling for the Pirates in that game because I'm sick of hearing about the Cubs; they're too full of themselves too soon. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Wow. St Louis beat Arizona 24-22 in AZ. Who would've thought?
This is the same team that made Washington look like world-beaters. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| One down, one to go. Now we just have to have "Yankess West" lose and then I really don't care who wins. Naturally I want the Cardinals to keep going but with the Yankees and Dodgers gone I really wouldn't have any animosity toward any of the remaining teams. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Wow. The company I work for just bought the naming rights for the new NFL stadium in St. Louis (if it ever actually gets built). I thought it was cool that we are a major sponsor of March Madness every year but you know you've hit the big time when you can put your company name on a stadium. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| NL Wildcard game.
I think I'm pulling for the Pirates here. The Cardinals have been shellacked the last couple trips to Wrigley whereas we've held our own pretty well at PNC Park.
People around here are pulling for the Cubs. For one thing, because of the proximity of the two cities, both would reap huge financial benefits from a series. Plus it's the Cubs/Cards and that feud hasn't really been competitive for a long time. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Wow. Not looking good for the Pirates.
That was a bomb by Schwarber. That's why I think I'd rather have the Cards face the Pirates; the Cubs have a bunch of "mashers" like that who can just light up Wrigley.
EDIT: Thanks a lot Pirates. Now it's 4-0 Cubs. I really dread playing them again. They pretty much owned STL the second half of the season. Other than Arrieta, their pitching doesn't scare me at all but their young hitting does, especially at Wrigley. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

The Dodgers aren't "Yankees West" lol. Watching Cubs and Pirates. Schwarber and Fowler have lit up Cole.

| They are to me.
Another team trying to "buy a pennant". Even my Dad who is a lifelong Dodger fan says he finds it hard to root for them now that they keep just "buying players". _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I think the Pirates could take them in a series but one game against the mysteriously and miraculously dominant Jake Arrieta just ain't a promising proposition. Maybe next year.

| Yeah. I don't get the Arrieta phenomenon either. But he's the last pitcher I'd want to face right now. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

They unloaded some of those high salaried players and have been using more guys from their farm system (Pederson and Seager. I would have said Puig but he has cooled off this season.) Watched the Rangers take game 1 against the Blue Jays.

| I watched the last part of that game too. I missed most of it; for some reason I thought it was the night game.
So now I'm watching the Royals/Astros game which I don't really care about. I guess I'm pulling for the Astros because nobody expected them to be here. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I sure never expected the Jays to drop the first two games. I actually picked them to be the AL representative in the World Series. So much for that... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

1-0 Cards in the third. Lackey has retired 9 in a row to this point. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
