Did any of you Kickstarter supporters get anything yet?  The CD comes out in two weeks and you would think supporters would have something by now.

It's not right to base my opinion on just one (bad) experience, but I'm not terribly happy how this thing went.

And just to clarify, it's not the Kickstarter company I'm disappointed with, but whomever is running the Raven campaign.

Missed deadlines, lack of communication, vague emails and an overall lack of enthusiasm on their end has made this a not so enjoyable experience. I'll be happy if and when my cds show up, but there's a pretty good chance this will be my first and last time I do this Kickstarter thing.

Excellent speed metal track. I am definitely getting this one.

And that sucks. I haven't done any kickstarter projects but had thought about doing it. This type of thing makes me leery on ever contributing to future ones.

As long as they eventually deliver what I was promised for my contribution (a signed ExtermiNation cd and the Party Killers covers cd), I won't totally trash the program. Things like this are only as good as the people that run 'em. But it will leave a lasting impression on me for future Kickstarter campaigns for sure.

I got a long, convoluted email last night from the Kickstarter folks that I'll be receiving a digital download of the Extermination album in the next few days. I think. And I'm not exactly sure when I'll be getting the physical cd or the Party Killers disc either. And they may or may not be signed as promised. Instead we're getting a signed card of some sort. And possibly another bonus track or 2 as a thanks for putting up with their nonsense.

Got that email too. Kind of bummed that the CD won't be signed, but it's not that big of a deal. I just want the friggin' CDs already.

Did you get your link for the digital download? There seems to be a technical glitch. Track 12 (Silver Bullet) and track 13 (River of No Return) are both the same song (Silver Bullet). And the bonus track (Malice in Geordieland), is actually 'River of No Return'. The bonus song doesn't appear in the digital download. GRRRRRRR!!!!

I posted a comment on the Kickstarter site about the error. Awaiting response.

If it's any consolation to you, the new album DOES sound good. Classic Raven.

Look, I'm trying not to be too hard on the Raven guys or this guy Josh that appears to be running the KS campaign. It's a new way of doing things and for older bands, they are accustomed to record companies or management handling pretty much everything. Now the burden of not only recording the album, but doing all the promotion, artwork, manufacturing the discs is in their hands and stuff is going to fall through the cracks. Unexpected expenses will pop up or there may be shipping issues. Who knows?

Things happen that are out of their control or that they didn't expect. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes this time around if they do it again. Make more realistic deadlines and realize actual costs. Better communication. Things could've been much smoother than they were for this campaign. That's all I'm saying.

Well, at least the music is good. I do hope to get this one eventually.

I re-downloaded and re-unpacked the .zip file and now it's working. I guess the problem could've been on my end. D'oh!!

I got this email too. And received the link for the digital download. But from what I read aren't the cds to Extermination being sent out sometime next week? The vinyl copies and the Party Killers disc was where there were problems or did I read that wrong?

My copies of ExtermiNation and Party Killers arrived today, along with a patch, sticker, guitar pick and signed postcard.

My package arrived yesterday. Haven't spun the Party Killers cd yet but the Extermination cd is awesome!!
