Bosstones Fans?

Saw the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in the early 90's open for the Dead Milkmen.  I had heard of them because they were on a jeans commercial or something and it appealed to my love of both punk and reggae.  Been a fan ever since.  I grew up with Murphy's Law etc - but the Bosstones turned me on to a world of Boston punk/ska that was awesome for a few years [everything good gets diluted quickly...].  Anyone else?

Not really explored them enough. I love Ska and got into it from the early '80s U.K scene and then discovered some of the Jamaican classics. By the time the U.S bands started doing it, I was pretty set in my ways. I do like Rancid and Less than Jake though.

Huge Bosstones fan here.

And corpl, not everything they do is ska.  Although if you don't like horns you definitely would hate all Bosstones music.

I made a Best of the Bosstones comp for myself last year.  I play that and my Best of Diamond Dogs comp constantly.

I like what I've heard. I went through a ska fase years ago. Though I don't listen to it as much as I used to; I still appreciate the genre.

Big fan here. Probably surprises no one.

I've been wearing a classic black fedora (Blues Brothers style) and military issue combat boots for many years. During the peak of the whole ska/punk era, people asked me all the time if I was a fan. The answer was a definitive "NO".

Now I gotta deal with the hipster-douche bags that have poached my look. Why must I be so popular?

Not real familiar with the Bosstones, but I dig some ska: OC Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy, especially. Dig some Insyderz, too.

I dug them, own just a couple of albums by them. Its live where they bring it down, the guys live are phenomenal

Loved absolutely everything up through Question the Answers. After that, it's spotty. Some good stuff, some not so good.

Thanks, Toho; yeah that sounds much better. Not my cup of tea but that second song has a neat Springsteen flavor to it.

Ya know, I don't think I'd have made the connection to Springsteen in a million years.  But now that you mention it, I hear what you're talking about.
