Fulfilling Amazon orders is a crazy job for a recovering CD addict, man! Not really, as we all know CDs are not big sellers anymore. Most CDs I pick are of stuff I or nobody here would care about. I only come across good stuff like this once, maybe once or twice a day (on a 10 hour shift, that's not much).

| Spinning it for a second time right now, blaring loud since the wife is out haha. Anyway, unlike this year's Overkill and Priest, I am completely satisfied with this disc. The riffs are strong as hell, and even though most of the songs are predictable, it's an enjoyable pattern that I keep looking forward to and has such a fresh sound. Great use of stereo throughout. I have yet to see the DVD.
My only complaints are excessive length (an hour), which is just a personal taste thing, and the lyrics to Dying Breed, which are pretty stupid haha ("long ago a sabbath black cut through the purple haze"). I can't stand name-dropping songs. Also the slower songs tend to plod a bit, with the power ballad Wanna be Free being the weakest track.
BTW Mark is sounding a bit more tired here; perhaps his voice has taken enough of a beating. It's not bad at all, still enjoyable, just that he doesn't hit full gain like he used to. Not much of a surprise considering how hard these guys have been working for the past several years. I agree with Eyesore; this is the best comeback act to come around in a long time.

| Upon multiple listens, I think this one is a bit of a step down from the last two. It's missing the big hooks, you know. Still a solid album.
I don't hear anything wrong with Mark's voice.

I don't hear anything wrong with Mark's voice. Not wrong, per se, just weaker. I threw on Stalingrad and I could really hear it. It sounds like he's holding back a bit. Not a complaint at all, just notable. It is the weaker of the "trilogy," for sure. Both BOTN and Stalingrad had songs that both stuck right away and never lost their intensity. In this case it didn't stick right away and some of the songs, like I said, plod without as much identity as the last two. But there are great moments for sure.

| I've been listening to this new album for the last couple days and I think its really good. I don't think theres a song I don't like and I also don't think its too long. When I feel an album is too long I'll start to zone out but I haven't zoned out yet with this album. I wanted to go back and listen to the last 2 albums to compare. I actually remembered not really caring for Blood Of The Nations too much. Not that it was bad but I felt there were a lot of slower songs on it (not ballads). The new album has a good mix of faster and slower songs and thats probably why I like it. _________________ | |

| The standout track here for new is 200 Years. It would've fit great on Metal Heart. Big riff, big chorus, big solo, instantly memorable. Although could someone tell the band enough with the End Of The World themes? Haha.

| I think the cracks in the armor are starting to show in this album. Not bad, but nothing that they haven't done on the last 2 with Mark. They found a formula and stuck with it and that's fine, but now it's starting to sound a bit static.
I know that sounds weird talking like that about Accept. Accept do something different? Blasphemy. They've never been known for re-inventing the wheel or doing something out of their wheel-house. The one time they did (Eat the Heat), it failed miserably. But if they want to keep fans interested, they might need to take a break for a bit or change something up. Not sure what exactly. Maybe just go away for awhile. Absence makes the heart grow fonder sort of thing.
My point is, I don't know that I'll need to buy another Accept album after this one. I'll have this trilogy with Mark. Will I need anymore? Time will tell. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I guess it is a bit same-y but I have no problem with it. I really liked the previous 2 from the band so this one holds up well to them. I'd rank it slightly better than Stalingrad but below Blood Of The Nations. | |

I totally agree. there is something missing in the new album. it is still good but lacks the passion that made blood of the nations such a perfect album. mark sounds boring at times. one thing is obvious: no one can fill udo's shoes

| I have heard this 4 times so far and I think the same as most of you. Good solid riffs, awesome solo's, killer drumming, great bass work, but the songs don't grab me and send me begging for more after an audible beating! The songs are just there plodding along. I think there are 2 very good standout tracks on it (Stempede) and (Final Journey).
I am still going to keep listening and hoping it grows on me more, but its definitely not as good as the last 2.

| I don't think it's a bad album. It's good. But it has a been-there-done-that quality to it. As a casual fan of the band to begin with, this 3rd album has filled my quota of Accept. Depending on your opinion of the band, that assessment could be way off.
I could put all 3 Mark Tornillo-fronted albums on shuffle and all the songs would sound just fine with one another. It would also be over 3 hours of new Accept, which might just be enough for me. That's really what I'm trying to say. 3 albums worth of Lemmy might be plenty for some, but I'll take any and all Motorhead that I can get. It just comes down to how big a fan you are I guess. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | It certainly is the Return of the Jedi of the three. Great package, enjoyable, competently made, lots of pyro--yet also underwhelming and lacking in the scope its predecessors presented. I agree with MG, a break at this point wouldn't be a bad idea.

| Just finished listening to this and I'm definitely a happy chappy This album rocks big time. I don't think theirs a single track thats not had my foot tapping or put a big grin on my face. I must look like a total loon sitting on a packed train on the way home from work with this album blasting down my ipod lol. I don't hear anything tired in Marks voice as some have previously mentioned, think he sounds great. I loved accept with Udo and love Udo's solo stuff but maybe I'm gonna be in the minority here but I prefer marks voice to Udo. I may have completely blasphemed there but I think his voice just fits accept way better. Maybe its because I think as he's got older Udo sounds more and more like he's gargling with broken glass and his voice has gotten very one dimensional. I like that mark can belt it out when the song calls for it but when he's required to actually sing his voice sounds a great fit for the music. I hope they don't take a breather as I've loved all 3 of the comeback albums and want this party to continue for as long as possible. Gonna make sure I catch their uk gig in novemebr now which I can't wait for. | |
