It really is; the way certain songs are composed is wild. Really dynamic key changes and modulations, catchy choruses, strong riffing that ventured into pretty hard rock territory, lyrics that were evangelical yet poignantly arranged (and I'm not a fan of christian lyrics), and a solid mix to boot. It wasn't as "metal AOR" as On Fire, but it was well-crafted and exciting, especially for CCM. Even those extra-cheesy ballads had strength and resonance to them.

On Fire! and This Means War are fantastic. The whole era from This Means War to Wake Up Call is great.

Totally agree; some of the best music the CCM industry has ever released, and nothing since has been able to match the quality of those albums.

I don't know how acquainted you are with the Zep, but that one doesn't have anything unreleased in it.
Simply just a real good collection - I have the same one. I got it when it was new and I only owned Led Zep II.

I snagged that from a used bin a while back. Quite a nice surprise.

I missed that you'd scored something from The Strypes. I picked up their Blue Collar Jane EP recently and I really dig it.
