I agree, if you order a band's CD it should be the "real deal", not some CDR.
Where did you order it from? I know Amazon usually lets you know if the CD is "produced on demand" or not.
What makes it worse is I think that album really rocks hard!
Yeah, it's a great album, which makes it even worse. And I bought it direct from their Big Cartel page. I'm tempted to cuss them out on their Facebook page. Haha.

I just checked and I got the same shitty CDR you did. I also got it direct from the band. So this sucks. I had purchased a lossless download from them for $1 as well. At least I have that.

Yes! I am really digging it.
I'd like to punch these cheap cunts in the face. With shipping, $14 for this piece of crap:
That is a disappointment. I was hesitant to shell out $14 for a copy, but now I know I won't. Not for that crap.
If anyone from Midnight Malice happens to stumble across this forum, just know you lost a sale because of shoddy workmanship.

Does the Midnight Malice CD come with a cover and stuff, or is it just that disc?

It's a regular jewel case with booklet and insert. If you need a physical version, get the Japanese Import on Spiritual Beast Records, which has their original demo as bonus tracks. You can also simply download it in lossless format from their Bandcamp page.

How do you tell the difference between a CD and a CD-R? (In that case it's obvious, but others not so much)
