EDIT: The more I dig around on the internet, it seems like you might be right. But you know what? I don't care because this band is still very much like AC/DC.
Good point. Their stuff is pretty good! How bizarre a coincidence is this?!
And apparently our talking about them attracted one of the band members who confirmed this is a completely different band (in case you didn't see his posts).

How is this album? I was in Best Buy the other day buying an audio cable and actually saw this cd on the shelf. I was shocked. So much so that I almost bought it on principal because I almost never see anything even somewhat decent on their shelves anymore.
It's good. There is some more modern riffage; you know, that groovy stuff. But it's definitely got its roots in 80s rock. For ten bucks, definitely worth it.

Oh, and if anyone is curious, Rubicon Cross is CJ Snare's new band. Singer for Firehouse.
And when I mentioned "modern riffage," this is what I mean:

Did you get the Best Buy version? It had bonus tracks, maybe it was a 2nd disc of acoustic mixes or something.
Those clips sound decent enough. I never cared much for Firehouse, but the dude sounds good. I could probably listen to more of this.
EDIT: My bad. It's 2 "exclusive" bonus tracks. Acoustic mixes of 2 songs from the album and a free poster. Still, for $7.99, not a bad deal.

And some recent additions...
The Golden Gods - The Thorny Crown of Rock n' Roll Striker - Eyes In The Night (re-issue w/Road Warriors ep) The Strypes - Snapshot (w/bonus track) Supergrass - Supergrass Is 10: The Best of '94-'04 (w/bonus tracks) Sweet Apple - The Golden Age of Glitter
Anyone that digs the 70's vibe of The Darkness without the campy vocals, check out the Golden Gods...

4 young kids (all teenagers) from Ireland that play old-school style blues rock and R&B. Like old Yardbirds or John Mayall kind of old school.
I love that style of British blues rock, so this stuff is right in my wheel house. They even have the look with the big hollow-body guitars, haircuts and suits. They look like they just walked off the set of 'Hullaballoo' circa 1966

I've completely missed these. The state of pop/indie music over here is pretty dire so i haven't been paying much attention, but those three songs are great. Reminds me in spirit at least of early Libertines

A lot of CDR's are transparent to some extent, but this is by far the worst I have ever seen. It's just cheap, super super cheap.

Does that thing actually play? I will look at my copy when I get home to see if I got screwed too.
I do know that this album was just released on Spiritual Beast in Japan with 3 bonus tracks - that's sure to be a real CD. Not that I want to give them any more cash.

Very few bands make the distinction. A lot of the younger bands, I assume, don't know the difference, but it still sucks. Because these things just breakdown over time and stop working.
How long do you think this thing will last? It already doesn't play in my jeep. Most CDR's don't, but I should never have this problem. When I ran my label back in the day, a CD, with full packaging, jewelcase and all that, cost about two dollars. If I sold out of the entire run, I would easily double or triple my investment.
Band today are just greedy. They go for the cheapest package possible, and then they charge full price or more.

This sucks because the album itself is excellent. They wouldn't even spend $2 on a real cd!! Lame.

It plays in my computer, so I was able to rip it. But I guess it doesn't play in my jeep, and I'm assuming it wouldn't play in most older cd players. The player in the jeep is the stock system that came with it back in 2001. But still, it should play in all CD players.

That's a bummer.
I agree, if you order a band's CD it should be the "real deal", not some CDR.
Where did you order it from? I know Amazon usually lets you know if the CD is "produced on demand" or not.
What makes it worse is I think that album really rocks hard!
