Recent dub of the original series (no edits) that became Robotech..... If you like Robotech, you will love this release (much better IMHO)

Watched a few clunkers over the weekend...
About Cherry - A pretty girl with a f*cked-up dysfunctional family turns to porn. Hilarity ensues. Actually, who would have thunk that such a premise would be soooooo boring. I fast-forwarded through most of it, only stopping for the "good parts", of which were few.
Reign Over Me - Happy Gilmore plays a depressed, crazy dentist or something and James 'Rhody' Rhodes, his best friend from college, tries to help him. I fell asleep towards the end. I'll just assume everyone lived happily ever after.
Attack the Block - One of the better features I watched, but still nothing great. I thought that one would be funnier, more like 'Shaun of the Dead'. It was more sci-fi than ha-ha. Not bad though.

I enjoyed this one, but it took me a while to get used to the characters' thick as hell "London street kid" accents. I swear it was at least ten minutes into the movie before I finally understood anything that was being said.

Yea, those thick accents were rough, but eventually I got used to them. Sorta like watching any Guy Ritchie films. They lay on the cockney-gibberish thicker than super-double-chunk Jiff.
It didn't help (or maybe it did) that I had a couple of vodka/cranberrys in me by showtime.

I also started watching a few episodes of 'Family Tree' on HBO. It's a half-hour series by Christopher Guest. If you enjoys his 'mockumentary-style' (lots of familiar faces too), you'd be right to check this out.
Starts out a little slow, but it's worth hanging in with it. And it's only 23 minutes at a clip.

I really liked Attack the Block & Reign Over Me. But I watched Wonderland, the ~Val Kilmer film about the later years of porno guy John Holmes, it was crap!

My problem with Attack The Block wasn't the accents as much as it was the fact that the supposed "heroes" were actually street thugs and gangsta wannabes. In the end, even though they tried to soften it up through the course of the movie, I couldn't forgive the opening scenes which for me depicted the kids as they really were.
Not a bad flick but that little nitpick kept me from enjoying it as much as I should have.

The Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus - interesting moment-in-time with some fun performances, including Tony Iommi's lone appearence with Jethro Tull. Also of interest is the "super group" The Dirty Mac, featuring John Lennon (vocals) and Eric Clapton on guitars, Keith Richards on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums.
Most of the circus part of it looks horribly dated in 2013, but it's fun watching the hippies tripping balls while the Stones do their thing. Poor Brian Jones looks lost.

An episode from season 6 of Star Trek TNG featuring James Doohan reprising his role as Scotty. Lots of in jokes referencing the original series in this one.

I'd never seen it before or even heard about it which is pretty amazing to me because while I wouldn't call myself a "Trekkie", I am a fan.

Complete with the constant "beep...beep...beep..." in the background on the old E bridge. Very cool.
