Past couple nights...
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I've actually never seen any of these films before. I enjoyed the first one, thought the second one was a big step down in quality (just too silly and sloppily directed) but the third one was killer and I think easily the best of the three. The change of director (Alfonso Cuaron who also directed the stunning Children Of Men) for Azkaban was just what they needed to get the series back on track and also up the quality at the same time.
Will probably watch a couple more over the weekend.
The Harry Potter film adaptations definitely suffer at times from rush directing and rush editing. A shame when you're trying to bring that many books to life. 'Azkaban' is one of the ones which stands up the best.

Salem's Lot (1979)
One of my fondest childhood memories was being scared shitless by this 1979 TV mini-series directed by Tobe Hooper, I was 9 years old when this debuted. While elements are rather dated I still find this original TV movie to be quite gripping.

It scared the hell out of me as a kid, I have not seen it since then.

Agree with you - Cuaron did an awesome job on the third one. #4 isn't as good as Azkaban. The quality jumps back up with #5

Love that show. Clever scripting, great characters but killed off by scheduling.
Predators. I really liked it, referencing the original Predator and using the established lore effectively. Whilst it's not a great film, it's more than entertaining and throws up its fair share of twists within the established framework.
